  1. Got a farmer well trained now ...if he rings me and says theres loads of pigeons or crows there will be. Last couple of years been great. Rang me last year to say hundreds of geese about so I went there expecting seeing a couple....christ there was 300 in the field ?
  2. A rabbit is a rabbit doesn't matter what colour it is.
  3. Strange , shot all colours including black , ginger, silver , grey , white patches and myxy ones
  4. Used to use Sellier and Bellot cartridges years ago when I used to shotgun a lot of rabbits .. brilliant cartridges.
  5. Used them before , I've had no issues ?
  6. Plenty black ones around these parts
  7. Just bought some HMR ammo at Bradford Stalker expecting paying a fortune but £14 a box ?
  8. Out again last night after the hen killers. Really awkward as all the fields are long and there is only 1 field to shoot in which was rough plough. Spotted a fox straight away but getting close enough was really difficult having to plod across the plough , eventually got within range but really struggled to get a good sight picture as light night using red led against plough is not ideal but I eventually got the shot ? I spent the next couple of hours seeing the vixen and another 2 Cubs but unable to get a shot ? Didnt get to bed until 2.30am ?
  9. I never saw anything moving before dark . Once the light had faded which seemed to take forever out came the Foxpro ? 1st stand had a dog fox racing in to hare distress shot at 75 yds. 2nd stand had a vixen screaming in to cub call shot at 100 yds Brilliant night , got to go out again tonight as farmer text to say a fox walked passed his patio window last night at 11.20 pm
  10. Looked out the window tonight and saw a heart in the sky , so thought this must be an omen so grabbed the rifle and off for a wander. Busy watching lapwings, curlews and managed to get within a couple of yards of a snipe crouched down? I was wandering through an uncut silage field when a young roe burst out of the hedge , quick check with bins revealed a spiker . Up on sticks watching him bound off but he stopped for that fatal look back at around 120 yds and that was him in the bag ? Now there a few fields cut so I will hang about til dark and see if any ? are about.
  11. It's very noticeable the amount of bird life near keepered grouse moors. I often too just watch the skylarks, redshank, oystercatcher, curlew , grouse and partridge. Bollocks to Packham .
  12. Stunning find the Curlews nest, found one myself many years ago in Scotland ?
  13. Farmer sent me this today...shot cub after it took a silkie chick
  14. Haven't seen any cubs here yet dead or alive . Shot 1st ones last year at the end of June.
  15. What a great trip ,well done. Love the daytime foxes ?
  16. I sat and waited for a couple of hours when eventually a fox came in to the field only to be spooked by a dog Walker and his 2 dogs ? Maybe next time ?
  17. Just baited a cut silage field with last nights rabbits and sitting in car with .22 to see if any rabbits or cubs show. Magpie landed on rabbit...?
  18. Yesterday evening saw the 2nd outing for the HMR. A lot of cover so concentrated where the sheep were as a bit more grazed off. Started off with a woody at back of farm before heading off in search of bunnies. Not as many about as usual but it was very windy so that didnt help. Plodding on I came across a black rabbit which was added to the growing bag. I was starting to enjoy using the rifle and getting used to it as I never really use it. Crossing a field of barley I noticed a rat out feeding on some old grain but off re ran to a huge hole in the middle of the field joined
  19. That's not a black fox ..
