  1. Saturday saw me and a couple of mates sika stalking in the Scottish Borders . Unfortunately my luck wasnt in and I only saw 1 hind all day . My mates fared better taking a calf each .............
  2. Friday night saw me travel up to my mates on the River Clyde for a spot of lamping followed by stalking on Saturday. We set up in position and I started calling using my Cottontail in distress call from my mobile , after a few seconds I spotted 3 sets of eyes bounding in from about 400 yards away in a procession. I said to my mate "Look at these badgers coming in " but once they got closer my mate looked through his scope and said " There not badgers there Otters " and sure enough the 3 otters came in to about 40 yards away before veering off and heading back for the river We went do

  11. Yep stalking is definitely addictive. So much so I couldnt stop til Id shot all 6 species. Enjoy the CWD Im sure you wont fail in Beds ..............
  12. What a fantastic week , I bet you were knackered but well worth it
  13. Youre certainly right there mate , much better calling and shooting charlie in daylight , knocks spots off lamping them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Nearly all my lamping is done on foot , I find you can get to places that a vehicle cant quite often. It is nice to be in a vehicle for instance shooting rabbits but I prefer foxing on foot as quite often you need to take a quick shot and sometimes its a bit of a pain in a vehicle. I doubt if many people could drive the ground these days as its so wet plus walking keeps you fit !!!!
  15. Me and my mate out last night on his patch looking for charlie , nothing special , lamp on , shoot fox . Went back to keepers house , he was pleased as the terrier lads had 2 vixens at the weekend and this was the 3rd in a couple of days
  16. Cant believe it I sold you these mags for £70 .
  17. Out with David last night under the full moon on a small pheasant shoot as the shoot captain had seen another fox on the last shoot of the season. After a circuit of the whole shoot and seeing nothing we were heading back to the car when I flicked the lamp into the last field and caught those ruby eyes staring back. We were at one side of the field and the fox at the other side of the field couched in a hedge , David took this very smelly vixen in fine style , neck shooting her at 240 paces .
  18. Dave , I bet your arse was freezing sitting there for 2 hours
  19. Another good day mate !! Remmy , its not the fact that they live in hedges but that you can shoot them at any hour of the day also. FD is a very lucky man to have access to such good stalking............
