  5. I went out for a stalk yesterday afternoon to a place I havent been to for a while. On arrival I was immediately aware of the amount of slots but didnt hold much hope due to the very noisy crunchy snow. I continued right to the boundary edge after spooking 2 roe already. As I approached a steep bank that descended to the river a roe burst from cover not 20 yards from me . I quickly ran to the edge of the banking and saw it disappear round the corner so I ran to the highest piece of ground and spied her approaching up a hawthorn hedge . There was only one possible place for a shot and that was

  10. I was out first thing the other morning mooching in the snow.I was stalking along the edge of a wood when suddenly a roe doe appeared approx 120 yards in front of me. I got my rifle on the sticks and watched her for a few seconds , she then stood in a perfect broadside position , I steadied myself and went for the boiler room shot. She immediately kicked out and disappeared into the wood. I was confident of a good hit. On inspecting the scene I saw a few drops of blood and lung . I then proceeded to follow the blood trail which consisted of sprayed blood consistent with a shot in the lungs

I received a phone call from a farmer the other night telling me he had lost a 30kg lamb the last 3 nights running.Out with the lamp we saw nothing so I set a couple of snares and returned for first light on Sat morning. 17. Last Saturday saw me and Gary make the long trek to Aberdeenshire for a couple of days stalking with Adam and Andy. The scenery was breathtaking and I can truly say that it was the nicest ground I have ever stalked. The weather wasnt too bad , a bit of rain but we coped with that knowing there was an abundance of roe about. I took this doe after a nice belly crawl into position. Another the following morning.......... I have never laughed so much in all my life , my sides were aching. Between us we shot 8 roe and a fox . Half a dozen hanging in
  18. Taken from BASC website . The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 amended Section 6 of the Ground Game Act and Section 50 of The Agricultural (Scotland) Act 1948, to allow night shooting of ground game under certain conditions. England and Wales: it is lawful for the occupier of any land himself, or one other person authorised by him, to use firearms for the purpose of killing ground game at night if the occupier has the written authority of a person entitled to kill or take the ground game on their land e.g. holder of shooting rights.
  19. Ratcherman was on the phone to a farmer last night and he mentioned we hadnt been for a while and could we have a look round to shoot some rabbits and hares. Not wishing to disappoint him we arrived around 7pm . Although the moon is nearly full , dark rain clouds appeared and a slight drizzle which actually helped our cause. The fields were like paddy fields absolutely soaking but we persevered and managed to bag a few. There are plenty hares on this ground so we took what we needed and left the rest for future sorties. I actually managed to drain my Lithium Ion battery , it la
