  1. Crunchy snow or brittle leaves the Deer hear you a mile off. It a case of keeping your eyes peeled and being able to react quickly to any movement in front of you. I dropped those 3 off last night at the game dealers after a brief chat he said i`ll be fair with you lad so as from now i`m paying £1 a pound and promptly handed me a pile of notes It`s been a good year up to yet for the Deer but this cold weather will soon knock the weight off them. The kidneys out of these three were shrouded in layers of thick white fat and looked that good there now in my fridge Is it a syndicate down N
  2. Struggling for words eh Drooper? I use to get that feeling too when things were hard to swallow Jammy that there gun is a superbly balanced completely standard Sako Finnlight 85 with a bit of padding gaffer taped to the comb on the stock. It`s commonly know as a girlie pad, stops my tender cheek from bruising up The gaffer tape also acts as a Deer attractor
  3. This afternoon i was faced with a dilemma?? what with 3 Fallow on the deck and the prospects of an extraction imminent in total darkness, lol. Don't over react it makes you look like a cock i kept telling myself The first was a Doe broadsided at about 90 yards which was accompanied by several other but she was the first to give me a clear shot after the group winded my presence. I moved onto the next forestry block without even gralloching the beast i was that short of day light and this decision was to pay off. Quarter of a mile away two Deer were out feeding i stalked into them with cr
  4. Well Langouroux despite various recommendations you have chosen very well indeed with that calibre and i can guarantee you wont be sorry pal Most guns will feel unbalanced especially with mods fitted no matter how much you spend. I had a new out of the box Tikka T3 Lite fitted with a T8 i then put a big Leupold scope, never chopped the barrel kept the same scope on it and same mod and killed plenty of Deer. Big fecking Deer.. The only modification that i made to that gun was that i customised the screw with an angle grinder which stopped the trigger from being made lighter. Good luck
  5. Ultimate all purpose hunting round for Europe is the 6.5x55. Full stop. Ric well ricw all the charm of a low flying brick as usuall! although you do have a point, as i have learnt how to stalk with a sauer 6.5x55 but its a wee bit on the pricey side! i did look a tikka in 6.5 and my friend can home load for me.......maybe that is a good choice! It would be the only sensible choice to go 6.5
  6. If i didn't know better drooper i`d swear that the last picture was taken on my favorite bit of ground. Like you the guy`s were out yesterday local to me on the quad controlling Deer i think the correct term used by the "Pro`s" is Removing Anyway as i watched this guy take out two mature Hinds off a bipod whilst still seated on the quad i felt a tinge of jealousy which is unlike me,lol. But yes its a hard life Drooper....
  7. Nice result Robbo i can just imagine the struggle extracting 3 Roe,lol.
  8. I`v been called a few things in my time Marty but Ghengis will be a first, lol. Foxy once referred to me as a God but i prefer to be called just Ace Joking apart you really need to have a professional approach if you want to stay at the top of the game. What the eye`s don't see the heart don't grieve. Dispose of the waste correctly Minus Liver kidneys but shame about the heart..
  9. It`s only on rare occasions that you see legs on working dogs the same thickness as a mans wrist. That quality only appeals to a dedicated few Neil this dog here sired by Okaro Max stands at 22 inch and at 17 month old he`s 19 kg in weight. I previously said he was 14 month which was incorrect..
  10. See those ginger eye brows foxy well there the direct result from strong Viking genes It was those that put the B0llocks in Britain, lol. Muntjac drooper there about every where in my area but you very rarely see them. If you know what your looking for the signs of them can be seen quite frequently such as dropping, hair on bramble runs and along fence lines but the biggest thing that go`s unnoticed is there hoof prints. This year which is almost over i have only seen 6 muntjac over a radius of 15 miles from my house and 4 of those were on the lamp whilst foxing. The other 2 were flushed ac
  11. After walking through the majority of the 500 odd acres of mixed woodland and fields with a team of beaters along with half a dozen dogs i did`nt hold out much chance of a decent stalk come afternoon? We flushed plenty of Deer onto surrounding land which were all Fallow along with one single Muntjac Doe which my Terrier flushed out. We had finished by 3pm so i got kitted up and made my way to the boundary knowing full well that the only chance would be me catching the odd one wandering back onto the ground. Losing light fast and from my position i could view a great deal of ground due to
  12. Good stuff foxy I notice that you`ve come to your senses and ditched the L200 in favor for an executive looking Disco, lol.
  13. I don't think the majority of the lurcher boys today would be interested in anything like Jake chalkie. Not enough bull, lol. Anyway i posted a few pictures of a dog sired by Okara Max earlier on in this thread at the time i was using the name Sheamus. Some good news the dogs still with us just about come close to strangling the big eared fecker a few times though.. He`s just over 14 month old and physically a solid powerful dog. Agility wise you wont get better and he`s as responsive as a well trained woman, lol. But mentally he`s tapped and i would liken him to a troublesome earth dog th
