We see them around over here. Mostly Elhew lines I believe. Their big running dogs like you heard. Most hunters here prefer a closer working dog for upland hunting. GSPs being the most common followed by English Setters. Slip Hound, that's a nice looking pup you've got there. Definitely a Pointers tail on 'em. If he turns out as he promises, and you put him over a good Greyhound let me know. ATB -
Drahthaar is German for Wirehair. But they are actually a versatile dog which does not fit into the HPR Niche. From my own experience over here DD's can do almost anything you want them to. My own aging example was an excellent field dog, and blood tracked many black bears and white tailed deer. He also dispatched vermin, treed squirrels, and handled anything else that came his way. From what I understand of a keepers job a DD would be a pretty good fit. But they are hard dogs, and require a firm hand. If you do not have this quality yourself you would be better off with another breed.

I took a lot of interest in religion for a while but when you get verse's like this "and Jesus said, but those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them, bring them here and kill them in front of me." it kind of makes you think he wasn't such a good guy afterall. And as for God and some of the genocide that was committed in the Old Testament well thats a tad hypocritical to say the least. I'm not familiar with that passage. Having seen by the vet is your safest plan. Something similiar happened to my wirehair except he didn't actually keel over. By the time I called the vet to have him seen he was fine. Never found a cause for it, but he seems weaker in the back end now. ATB
