    Nothing worse than people trying to pass blag gear on as genuine anybody with half a clue knows that stuff is fake.     A dogs smell is its strongest sense just as human being strongest sense is probably their eyesight . What happens 99% of the time a dog meets a different dog it hasnt came across before they sniff each others arses just as we would look somebody in the eye and shake their hand upon meeting someone for the first time, so is it possible all dogs/foxes dont smell the same just as we all dont look the same?? is scent a way of identifying an individual in the animal kingdom just as a human beings facial features identify them??     Try gradually feeding him later each day, its amazing how much dogs get into routines. I feed my dgs as late as possible stops any whining for grub. Another option would be a bark collar.

    The situation you are in it sounds like you will have to get a dog that will not physically fit in a hole, just as there's no guarantees that a dog will go to ground, theres no guarantees that it wont either. It would be soul destroying to bring a pup on for 18 months or so only to lose it down a hole.

    I know of a litter that will be due in a few weeks time Springer x Terrier depending how many the bitch has, there could be a spare pup PM if interested

    I think to stop condensation you would need some sort of vent, in doing so you'd be giving the warm air an escape route. This is the reason I used ply on my sleeping boxes but if it wasn't for the condensation that plastic would be ideal. from experience, i find ply also keeps in condensation, unless their is holes to let it out. Not in my kennels

    I had galvinised steel sleeping boxes made, raised 4" from the floor, lined them with kingspan and marine ply and they also have a staywell dog flap for access and to stop any draughts. IMHO if they are the correct size, insulated adequately and draught free there's no need for any other means of heating besides the dogs own body temperture.
