  1. What sort of home is the kid from, could you ask his parents to sort it out? This may be a naive remark but not all daft kids have scum for parents. I've had to bail my lad out on occasion till he got his act together, which thank god he did. Some of his antics you would not believe!!!!
  2. I had a bitch done at seven months biggest mistake I could have made, ruined the dog in every way.
  3. Unfortunately kids do mess up, sometimes very badly. Just hope he learns from this before he burns all his bridges if he hasn't already.
  4. I have a really high prey drive dog he was bred to be that way, fine as long as I'm there just stays to heel screaming but what a liability and no sense of danger whatsoever. Last winter he cut his legs up running through ice on a pond after a duck, cut to ribbons still didn't stop him.
  5. Just noticed two private messages off the twit who started this post, I won't be reading them as they are bound to be abusive tripe. GO AWAY YOU SYNAPTICALLY CHALLENGED LOON.
  6. My older dog is always very protective of my pups he wouldn't normally be aggresive but if he is out with a pup he takes his safety duties very seriously. Could be yours was trying to protect "her" pup.
  7. Why don’t you get off to school dip shit you are obviously in need of all the education you can get!
  8. Four inside one outside. Deerhound has his own sofa.

    insurance

I worked for an insurance company and which ever you choose make sure before you take out the policy you read the exclusions very carefully. I have Direct Line and have found them to be excellent and for each condition you only have to pay one excess most others you have to pay the excess every year.
  10. Christ! better not let my OH read this thread, mine cost £35 a week!
  11. Thanks very similar but wrong sex.
  12. Does anyone remember a post on here where two dogs had been stolen and the brown and white dog was found the dark saluki type was still missing? If so could you post a photo of the dark dog as I have seen one being offered for adoption and it looked very much like the photo on here. I was like to check it's not the same dog. Thanks
  13. I wonder why if you see a child in a potentially dangerous situation it's normally with it's father
  14. I don't know what to say, what a truly terrible time for you.
  15. If you want to upset "dog lovers" take out a Poodle in a pinch collar you'd get less reaction if you drowned a baby in public!
  16. German Shepherds etc. are renown for their obedience and intellegence though, not sure that's the same for sighthounds is it? I can call my Shepherd off a running man or a rabbit not my Deerhound, once he's in full stride no chance I've even tried an electric collar he just ran faster totally different mentality and not because the Deerhound wants to get the rabbit he doesn't it's the chase.
  17. My Deerhound had them was caused by a skin infection course of antibiotics cleared it up, vet said it was very common in pups though none of my others have ever had it. None of the other ever messed in their beds and lay in it.
  18. Simple answer crate the youngster when you're out, saves things getting trashed and saves you getting annoyed with the dog. A kong filled with treats/meat then frozen keeps them occupied for a while.
  19. One of mine was the same messed in his bed and was quite happy to lie in it. I was at my wits end I had to keep bathing him to get the mess off. Tried smaller bed and everything else. The only thing that worked was taking him out every hour without fail and waiting till he had been outside it was hell, it took a month of sometimes standing outside in the cold for ages but it did work in the end. Good luck.
  20. HAHAHA I bet your dog wasn't amused, I love night tracking, great fun. I went on a tracking course, we were handcuffed to the ground in the middle of a pitch black airfield and the only way to get out of the handcuffs was for your dog to be released from the other end of the airfield with the key attached to its collar, you were allowed to shout once!!! very funny
  21. Thanks I know someone who imports dogs from Germany on a regular basis so that would be no problem for me, do you know of anybody in Germany?
  22. Hide and collar make some stunning hound collars, a bit pricey but worth it IMO
  23. Same thing happened to one of my bitches we were walking along and a JRT ran out of a drive bit her and ran back in, she was great with other dogs till that happened now she is awful I can't trust her near anything. Hope your dogs back on its feet soon.
