  1. I personally would have it removed, had the same problem with a pup of mine and the vet told me it could affect the position of the other permanent teeth and cause bite problems.
  2. Lovely dogs I especially like the black Cocker.
  3. My Deerhound tracks very well and really enjoys it.
  4. Dogs every time, I love their happy uncomplicated natures I find bitches sulky and complicated. I have a four year old bitch now and she is the brightest of my four and picks things up quicker than the dogs but she drives me mad she can sulk for England lol.
  5. He is absolutely stunning, if it wasnt for the colour he looks full Deerhound. Mine stopped growing at about 14 months he is just under 36 inches tts. He is clever but couldn't catch a cold. He heaves if you offer him raw meat. Wish he was more like yours.
  6. They are 1wk 2wk an 3wk old. Not weak just thin, I was told they would die if over fed so am worried about giving them too much. They have 50ml per kilo x 3 feeds but I've been splitting it between 4 feeds and thet have lamb pellets but dont know if they can have these ad lib. They are lively but getting thinner also seem to have funny mucky eyes. Was told they'd had colostrum. any advica appreciated will stick to what I know in future this is awful.
  7. Help!!! Totally off subject but has anyone any experience of rearing cade lambs. I have three and I've followed instructions on powdered milk bag but they are losing weight. Asked a Sheep farmer and he was less than helpful. Anybody know how much to feed them? I'm giving them four feeds a day.
  8. Just my opinion but I've found a dominant high drive dog has a better attitude towards its handler if kept outside even if only in the day. Some dogs have much easier temperaments than others and it does'nt matter if in or out.
  9. Some very good advice thanks. My guard dog dosn't actually ever bark at people too confident the bitch is yap yap but dogs are no match for somebody who knows what they're doing will have to get some electronic deterants.
  10. The man power and time needed would make that very difficult, shame as they need a good kicking. These people have no nerves. A bloke I know who works in a pretty tough proffession had his JRT pup nicked from outside a shop not only did the thief ask for money he went round to the house with the dog to get his money and threatened what would happen to the family if they did anything!
  11. Lovely to hear of a Labradoodle doing well. The prey drive will be from the Poodle side, all mine have had sky high prey drive.
  12. Thanks for the advice. I've got them inside now, I was supposed to go to market today but I'm not leaving the house empty. Police round here not interested in dog theft or anything else for that matter. I think a march against dog theft would be a good idea, try and get the police to do something. Theres been a few dogs round here taken and a couple have turned up horribly injured.
  13. A bloke stopped me about a week ago asking about them. I Said they were crap and all castrated or speyed would someone still be interested. Would they take on a dog that meant business.
  14. If someone wants a dog what sort of lengths will they go to?
  15. I'm worried, let the dogs out this morning and they kicked off big style, I went outside and heard two blokes shouting by the garden hedge, shouted the dogs in and thought they must have been having a go at another dog through the hedge. Anyway, this afternoon I was working in out field and noticed a bloke hiding at the field bottom watching us he had a foot ball with him and kept kicking it about. Deerhound spotted the movement and took off luckily for once when I shouted him he came back. The bloke saw we'd seen him and moved off. About fifteen minutes later my Shepherd kicked off over somet
  16. I had one buzzing me a few months ago, when I didn't take the hint and carried on walking with the dog the bloody thing went in front of me turned around and came towards me about 20ft above the ground! It was bloody worrying, the dog dashed ahead and started leaping up and down trying to grab it anyway they buggered off. The dog came back really chuffed thought he'd seen it off.
  17. My latest pup was a sod for running off to other dogs, the solution I've made a whistle out of a squeaky toy he's obbsessed with it works every time.
  18. Ha Ha you think we cave in, who cooks your food do you know whats going into it! My Oh pisses me off he gets dog food for a week, served with a smile.
  19. Just curious why your annoyed that your getting earache, you lied to get another dog your Mrs didn't want and then you expect her to forget about it! I'd kick you out and keep the dogs myself.
  20. My Deerhound burst a blood vessel in the tip of his tail when he was nine months old there was blood everywhere, we taped it up and it healed and has never happened since. I know of a person who keeps their dogs tail taped all the time to stop the dog banging it against things.
  21. How do you manage to control the bike and the dog without getting pulled over or into the path of a car Yes I am frail and should probably have smaller dogs lol but in the meantime I have three massive dogs that need exercise.
  22. There was a programme on the telly last week about dogs saying Huskies can cover 100 miles a day and I know working Collies can cover 70 miles a day. I would love to walk mine further than I do but Arthritis won't let me. I worry that I would be pulled off a pushbike and the police are very hot about leading a dog with a car. Any ideas welcome.
  23. What a horrible decision to have to make. RIP Troy
  24. This is absolutely heartbreaking, what is wrong with people to use emotional torture making calls like that! The police make me sick why the hell arn't they doing anything about dog theft. If people were given decent prison sentences they wouldn't do it. I really hope you get your dog back.
