  1. nice a refreshing drink while out ferreting, was it a half or a full pint?
  2. as this is your first ferret IMO the best idea would be to put a sniped hob over her this year then once you've got more experience, if it suits you and you can find homes for the kits then breed from her next time. ATB REDEYE. Top advice mate...give yourself a pat on the back.... Darryl pat... pat.... thanks mate.

  9. i use an old keep net pegged out in the river works for me. try the sunday roast carcase or a few pidgeon carcases, anything will work for you if you have good numbers to aim at. i set in the evenings and check first thing in the morning before work.
  10. if you've only had her for a few days then let her settle into her new home then start to handle her, if she bites then just put her back into the court. give her time she will come round eventually.
  11. i cut my finger quite badly while i was butchering a deer, only thing i had was super glue, worked a treat. like some of the guys have said if its bad then get off to the vets. insurance sounds a very good option if its that cheap. ATB REDEYE.

  14. try mixing things up a little, change your tactics. get to your planned field early doors and try setting out a tight pattern with as many deeks as you can get your hands on, as already said they flocking at this time of year. if all else fails then try some roost shooting. ATB REDEYE
  15. was out shooting over the ferrets at the weekend. the young ones bolted a few but the old hob caught every time we put him to ground and popped out on the end of the odd bunny. they didnt seem to mind the noise we were using an AYA No2 and a mossberg pump action, going to give the new 410s/s a try next time. good luck on your day out mate. ATB REDEYE.

  22. I haven't found that to be true at all. I feed mine before we go out and they will work for as long and as hard as necessary. A few kicks certainly won't put them off...if mine worried about a few kicks, hungry or not, then they probably wouldn't be the ferrets I would choose to work. Yes, each to their own. But I do not go ferreting without having had breakfast and I have to do considerably less than the ferrets, so I don't expect them to work on an empty stomach either. ive just taken a few of my young (around the 8 month mark) ferts on their first outing, took to it like a duc
