  3. cheers guys, winter just cant come quick enough. think i may have to buy another boat and do some sea fishing to keep me occupied.
  4. That's the sort of thing that the antis don't/won't understand Scent. We have probably got more empathy for our quarry than anyone else. (Well those of us who respect our quarry anway. ) spot on once again malt. great photos mist.

  9. I went to the workshop today and thought i'd have a crack at a few baskets and a 100 yard quickset. i used 8mm steel rod for the frames and gave them a couple of coats of hammerite. i used 4z sheet netting and solid 15mm fibreglass poles. these poles are so strong they'd probably stop a cow. The sun was out but dark clouds were looming so i rigged up the quickset inside. The workshop is only 35 yards long so i did have to mess about a bit but got there in the end. heres the results. first attempt next one 100 yard so all in all not a bad day
  10. nice little job that stealthy mate, when you going to finish painting it?
  11. nice fert you got there, my 2 yr old loves my ferret, bless him he thinks its a mouse!
  12. all done earlier, going to print it off and get as many guys at work to sign it, im in the army so plenty of scope getting it passed around.
  13. Well young man if you feel your rifle isnt up to the job then please dont shoot at live quarry until its sorted . happy for you that you got your first rabbit but true hunters show respect to their quarry. keep that in mind when ever you want to take a shot. in the mean time get some practice with your gun you want a grouping the size of a 10p at 35 yards, and check your aim point at different distance.

    WORK

im in the army but do plastering on the side, not had alot of work this year. more time to go play.
  15. a karati chop is perfectly humane, i would rather do it like that than handle it for ages trying to get it out of the net, in my book handleing a wild animal however gently should be kept to a minimum since i dont want to push its stress levels through the roof. atb wbk ? So you could handle it gently and chin it , or handle it gentle and think your Bruce Lee and whack it one , never being 100% certain it will do the job first time , thus resulting in several blows . There are many ways to break a rabbits neck but choping it in the neck is far from satisfactory agr
  16. well im sure i will get one in the end ive been trying all winter with no luck. in the case of doing it really slowly i dont even get the chance to do anything the second i see them and duck they scarper everybody on this site makes it so easy Reading this bit it rings a bell. You see them and duck.Well they see you hit the deck and bugger off. I think you are spotting them a bit late and my suggestion would be, to leave the gun at home the next time you go out and concentrate on spotting them without the excitement of going to shoot. Just take your time and when you see one try to get

  21. my land owner came to me yesterday with a new machine he'd bought for getting rid of moles. it pumps butane gas and oxygen into the run then ignites the gas, its not intended to kill the moles as its classed as an inhumane method but destroy the runs. he paid £1600 for this machine but it doesnt seem to be fixing the problem. does anyone use any different methods to good effect?
