    coming from a bloke who freely admits one of his dogs is shite,you do it your way mate ill do it mine,no they dont only get road walked,they get all the free running they need,just not in areas infested with rabbits,and as for situations they come across,once im in the field surrounded by a hedge,they only need to know one thing,catch the bunny, So would you keep a dog away from the countryside?? were would you walk a dog that some thing might not make it run even the parks are full of squirrels do you implement keeping it on a lead till its ready to lamp.     Itook a 10mth old pup out to let him have a look down the beam this week as i like to put the seed in there mind before you put them up for summer , luckily he went on the second rabbit . Years ago i kept a dog to just walking the streets till he was 10mth and he went straight down the beam and killed the first two rabbits he ever saw , goes to prove if its in them it will come out ! .

    Sorry to hear this , same thing happened to me last year , i slipped my bull x on to his large quarry , next thing im carrying him in my arms to the car , the feeling of guilt i had was terrible , i still feel it now .Hes buried in the garden and i still talk to him now !!!

    Years ago when i was new to lurchers and you got one that was no good i would really try but deep down you know the truth and then you grow to resent the dog so as soon as you get that gut feeling its best to rehome them , remember , it costs the same to keep a bad one as a good one .

    Feed a house dog fat for a few year and the vet will love you You know what i mean any working dog.. Be it coursing,Ferreting or sled pulling herding.. Ill still stand by the fact the fat is the best form of energy, Im not saying carbs cant give energy after the body has converted them into one thing and then the body can absorb that bla bla.. Like i say ill leave it to someone that knows the fancey ins and outs of it to explain Make your mind up , youve stated TWICE that dogs dont get energy from carbs !!!

    carbs are your dogs main source of energy Thanks mate , thought anyone would know that !!! . Carbs slowly release energy into the system thats what helps your stamina .

    I feed alot of pasta especially to pups as it piles the weight on , and burns of slowly producing energy as its a carb . Alot of coursing lads feed carbs the day before the dog is run .

    The old bill are unbeliveable - last year as some folks on here may remember , my 13yr old was robbed in broad daylight of my bullx by a traveller , when we phoned the police they said they had no one to send , could we come to the station , four hours later we spoke to someone !!! .But if i would have been doing something illegal with my dog , id have had a quicker response !!!

    Stud fees , £15 into game fairs , £250 a pup , - no wonder the lurcherworld is full of idiots !!! .Genuine working dog lads - well the ones i would bother with - let you use their dog for nothing in the hope an outstanding dog comes out of it and are more than happy to see the pups go to a w orking home . Ive two pups on the yard now , both outstandingly bred , off lads on here , i paid for the jabs on one and nothing for the other

    At a lurcher show in 1999 i gave £50 for a 30lb 3/4 whpt x1/4 gry bitch - she took hares , rabbitt ,fox and by accident loads of cats !!!. Once caught ten rabbitts on the bounce , long slips , when i got to her she was on the floor , exhausted with the rabbitt in her mouth !!! She even killed a hare whilst dislocating her toe , only downside was she couldnt pass a vets , costs me hundreds in toes and stitches !!!

    The police have always adopted that attitude - at the Waterloo Cup they would let antis shout all kinds of abuse but when the coursing lads had a go back they would draw truncheons and make arrests - Iremember one of the soap dodgers giving it out large as the law stood with him but as the police escort left them he was left on his own only 6ft away from me - his face was a picture - the look of terror was great to see - evev better when a brick came from behind me and hit him in the face !!! Let them have their moment as they know this laws on its way out !!

    100% mate, lots of travellers will take anyones dogs, including from their own kinds, but as you said they arent liked/respected for it by anyone. But most travellers who wouldnt take anything off anyone. Its the few who makes it bad for the rest. I hope you get the dogs back mate. Thats maybe so but theirs travellars who know about stolen dogs but choose to keep quite about them.My mate got his dogs back after a well known travellar was blamed for there theft it took the travaller les than a week to find out were they were and who had stole them.     Why bother keeping it if its having a go at people in the street?? By the sound of it the whole litter should be dispatched. As ive kept running dogs over 30 years i think im experianced enough to be the judge of that dont you ? As i said it wont get 2 chances with me but as my son - as a 12year old was robbed of a bullx whilst walking it i dont care if the dog is protective so keep your stupid remarks to yourself !
