  1. Most certainly but i really wouldnt one of thos boar to get up after i shot or i got one REALLY REALLY REALLY annoyed pig on my case.
  2. Would i be right in sayin that the 22-250 also sufferes barrel wear aswell. If i were to get more powerful rifle it would be a .270 so i could take deer and boar aswell as fox, but seing as one of the owners of my permission wants the job done but nothing to be hanging off the fox (they are bit squimish in that respect but fair doos) i must keep to (lack of a better word) lower end centre fires for fox ( i dont want/need to shoot deer and boar at the moment) so why use a sledge hammer to crack a nut. Proberly a very confusing post but im tired and its been a long day chicken run makin
  3. seing as a feral os just a rock dove i see no reason why not as long as they loook pretty healthy, but that said i wouldnt want to chance it nor do i think they would taste any good.
  4. Good idea in my opinion, but i know someone will diagree with me on this but i would suggest you go with a logun silencer instead of the weiurach, someone i know had a weiurach where the pellet kept striking the baffles or whatever, in my opinion the logun is ever so slightly quieter, and if i remember rightly bit cheaper than the weiurach.
  5. Cheers guys, shame but i dont know anyone with either of the rifles, i think i'll have to go on the scrounge for someone to take me out.
  6. Wont be pissing you off anytime soon, thats some arsenal.
  7. I beg your pardon SS. who would have thought reading would be so blooming tricky
  8. CO2 becomes a gas at -78 C so i shouldnt think this is the problem with the CO2 remaining a liquid especially in the this part of the world. and heating up pressurised gas dont sound like a good idea to me. Could the lachk of power be down to something else?? I know my ratbuster's power drops off really quick with near empty capsules, maybe same thing?
  9. Oh i know it would affect pattern as its one lump of lead what i was trying to get at is the slug getting stuck in the choke or just blowing it out. if you understand my ramblings?
  10. What shot size you you use for rabbits, and what makes the only half suitable cartridge my gun shop stock is express 3" with no.6 shot (not ideal). on a tangent when i was in america i saw rifled slugs for .410 (god knows how that worked with full choke as they usually are) but sound like a fox load to me
  11. I heard a way of putting a shiny polished finish: apply oil to stock with hands, dust hands with talcum powder then rub it in then take the talcum powder off then do again. talcum powder is apparently just fine pomice powder and that how they polish stock on the london gunmakers. not sure if it works but when i have a spare minuite i'll give it a go, and let you know
  12. No major bags here in north west kent, been having ago at the pigeons on the feilds but they seem to just f**k off after 2 shots, been told that hopefully this cold will hold them bit better as they need to feed more. saw a few today mind. joe
  13. reading up the tracer has loads of accesories, particulary lookin at the handle that you can convert the scope mounted lamp to a hand held, saves buying two lamps then and only for £15 genius.
  14. The vast majority of my lamping will be on foot so is the light force and battery combo light enough to carry comfortably? (im fairly fit its just id rather keep weight to a minimum especially climbing through and over gates and fences)
  15. Those predators seem bit pointless to me : at short range (upto 15yrds) use hollow point (i use bisley pest control), they are still accurate enough to make a shot count and still have energy to expand, anything beyond that use domed pellets (i use webley accupell exellent pellet), they are accurate too quite far out and have enough punch to kill even with a near miss. these predators seem to try to invent a middle ground which neednt be there.
  16. i've had it since i was about 12, but been shooting a fair bit before, I would like to say that although I believe and Everyone i've shot with be it shotguns air rifle or rifles that i am a safe shot (not to sound cocky, i maybe a safe shot but not neccisarily a good one ) I completely see where the police have to be carefull especially when granting a "17 years old kid" with a rifle. and in all honesty i dont expect them to grant me with an open ticket, on the off chance i'll speak to the FEO on my interveiw and just discuss the possibiliteis (if any). just wanted to know what to expect of
  17. What do these run at? i thought it was something around 9ft/lbs. i have a Ratbuster for a bit of fun and the odd squirrel/rat in the live catch, Its bloody loud does that silencer make much difference?
  18. Theres a fair few seen on my shoot, but most years been alot more, hopefully the cold weather will bring them in abit
  19. Cheers for the advice guys. I'll have a look on ebay one thinks
  20. I had one of those toss pots approach me and tried to get me to sign up for that shite. Not only is that bad enough but i was in full shooting regalia : gun, dog, decoys the lot. Once i told him where his time was wasted on me he tried to persuade me that all blood sports are "barbaric"...Utter bull shit was my reply. When are these people gunna give this shit up and resign to failure?
  21. The Tracer mini is rated to 250yards...the Tracer MAX is rated to 400yards! I have the PRO version of BOTH (the dimmer switch units). I think it's Uttings that is doing the Max Pro kit for £99 at the moment, lamp, dimmer switch, charger, 7.2ah battery, scope mount, carry pouch, and last time I saw a "free" red filter as well! These are not the greatest quality lamps but as far as I am concerned they are the best value for money you can buy and very capable!! And if by any chance you do have a problem, Deben will fix it, or supply you ANY parts you need to fix it!! The Lightforc
  22. Im looking for a lamp for abit of rabbit and fox lamping. i would like something to attach to the scope but if thats no good then please tell me and any suggestions would be much appreiciated. been lookin at a tracer mini or whatever one has 400m beam any good?
  23. Cheers Snapshot, i always do some degree of practice before moving to live stuff, would i have to state this on my license as practice or something???
  24. As most of my guns have walnut stocks i went to the gun shop and brought a tiny bottle of walnut oil for the stocks, to my horror this bottle some 75ml of it cost me £7, absolutly outraged but short of travelling another 50miles needs must. In M&S out shopping i found a bottle of walnut oil (not for guns but for cakes and what not) this bottle 250ml cost me £1.50 and it does a bloody good job too, so i just thought id put the word out to the people, save some money in these tight times.
