  4. i was reading an article in countryman's weekly and say a article that mentioned summer ferreting, now, i've never heard of this, presuming the ferrets would just go down and only kill the young. Has/Does anyone do this nad i would be very interested in the hows and ins and out of this. (ordered some net making stuff goin to make a few for next season...or this summer if this lark turns out a goer)
  5. You got his addrress so just knock on his door and ask face to face, also gives a more personal touch and allows him to judge what sort of character you are. good luck.

  8. do they go "crispy", i headrd of using vaselin or waxes but i spose all does same job.
  9. get some peanut butter and a hide, find a branch you know they use and spread peanut butter on it, set out the hide from a good shooting place and leave it for a few days and keep feeding them, then sneakin into the hide and wait. personally never tried this but sounds like a plan, failing that get yourself a .410 or 20 bore and shoot them as they run from you, this is how i shoot my squirrels....great fun!.
  10. Does anyone treat hemp nets to make em last a bit better. and what do you treat them with? much appreitiated. i always dry out my nets and do everything proper but still have a few squares breaking. aslo any info on repairing nets would be great. cheers.

All of my year know and are all ok with it, not saying they are for it but , live and let live i supose. i've found as long as you dont rub peoples faces in it they arent to bothered (obviously you get a few who are), Girls on the other hand by and large i have found them not to like it soo much, but if they cant see the person for who you are why would you want their company?

I own two RWS air rifles (not this particular model) one spring and one pcp and both are fantastic guns, wouldnt use any other except possibly a daystate or similar.
  13. as i've said i shoot with a .22, i always go for the head and had good results with shoulder/neck shots, i use domed pellets that dont deform much but are bloody accurate (accupells) and accuracy is key. just imagine where all the important parts are in a rabbit 1st of all head (most important), heart/ lungs also very important. but it all depends on the situaton.
  14. when i shoot them with a .22 mind, i tend to go for a head shot, mainly because if you miss judge the distance as i sometimes do it will either go straight over and not harm it or go in to the neck for an instant kill. that said when i do pest control on ferals if i cant get a head/neck shot for whatever reason the back or shoulder is my next choice, remember this is where the majority of the vital organs are so almost instant kill.
  15. i've done this with my RWS excalibre, didnt realise that there was 2 in there, so fired it as usual. as said i wouldnt advise it but would do less dammage than bumin up the rifling with a metal rod, if you have a silencer take that off just in case it hits it.
  16. I always take it with and keep it in one of the internal pockets in my jacket, i think they do certificate wallets made of leather well worth i think.
  17. Why is it that people automatically think your "heartless" when you hunt or shoot. hunting folk are some of the nicest people going in my opinion. I had it today i've known this girl a few years and we been good mates as soon as she found out i "killed things" she appeared to be disgusted at me for partaking, strange. Also. someone tell them poor poor misguided antis that murder is a human killing another human, not a human killing an animal. Being religious aswell the general jist is : murder = BAD Hunting = Good/ Way of life (loads of references to hunting, Esau brother of jacob
  18. i've eaten game with lead shot in it since i was born, done me no harm ....no comments.lol. bit late i understand but i use eley VIP bismuth no in my 20 for ducks, i would avoid steel like the plague, just not heavy enough, for 12 i would get some express heavi-shot, no.4 gives you the choice of a goose then. but i shot one with the 20 soo....
  19. fantastic guns, mine had accounted for manier rabbit/squirrel/collard doves.
  20. i'll write that one on the FAC caliber reason .22lr Vermin, ground game .223 Vermin .50 BMR In case of alien invasion.
  21. Get the gun? .......i wonder what round to use for aliens?????.....
  22. cutting down brambles also makes it a darn sight easier to net, but i usually just leave it and cover this area with the .410, or just hope they dont bolt from the hole.
  23. i like it when it snows, just bit noisey walking through the deep stuff, i would get really wrapped up and wait. i made a hid out of straw bales and left it out, it had a roof and was warm all things considered. just no smoking
