  1. think they mean like dust, lead from the pellet and lead oxide from the pellets as well it rubs off as it goin through the barrel.
  2. i would go for the 6z longnet, you need it as said to be flexible and light enough to tangle up otherwise the rabbit will just be stopped. the 6z i prefer purely as it sets out nice. that said im no expert.
  3. cheers guys. i think its time to go make a few more hives.
  4. 54.5% Yes 45.5% No Quite possibly the stupidest law ever made, how did they expect a dog to differentiate between a hare and a rabbit.
  5. it was ( i was only about 10) but the i prefered the RWS. anything to look out for on the BSA.
  6. Yh RWS model 45 but sold it last week to my mate (he got it for a steal, but hes a mate soo) and before i had a weirach hw80 (i think)
  7. Im not ungrateful i really am but what are the BSA lightnings like?? it will be a back up gun or just when i fancy using a springer.

    Poor old dear

Bit off topic but on a pier near me there are 3 old blokes who meet up and race them along the pier. i think its great, with their personalised name plates.
  9. i did clump my thunb with the hammer so not all fun and games. lol.
  10. crak out the scatter gun i think skeet chokes take all of the buggers out
  11. I was asked to give a friend hand with making aload of bee hives, so we went to the farm today and i knocked up a load of them an awful lot faster than we both antisipated so as a thank you he gave me a BSA lighnting ,slip, scope (simmons 4x40) and a tenner for my work and the promise to take me out on this HUGE farm. Sound like a good deal to me.
  12. if it were a cat surely the cat would still be in the trap. i think the answer is more than likely wind or the fox nudging the trap. presuming it the type that has a rod that is attached to the floor pad and through an eye in the top. Try setting it so it take more force to set it off.
  13. Quails are a fantastic lil bird to keep. hard as old boots mine where outside in the snow and had dug down to the feeder. just dont get 2 males together.
  14. Yh i have used him to point then for me to get into position. worked alright.
  15. TBH i wouldnt attempt to shoot anything over 45yrds with an air rifle well and possibly 60yrds with a FAC rated gun, i just dont thin they have the accuracy or kinetic energy to make sure you kill it out right not just wound. My opinion and also those who were implying spring guns are for beginners, you are mislead. a spring will kill all the stuff a precharge will do just with a tad more noise and recoil...i quite enjoy putting my PCP a break to do some stalking with a springer.simplicty. and makes you a better shot i think.
  16. i was thinking that government had double standards today, just heard a song called "dance like a white boi" now not sure but last time i checked taking the p*ss out of someone because of there race was...racist To add insult to injury even the music was terrible. offending my ears. NOW I SAY, THATS JUST NOT CRICKET!
  17. yh i would go with the ferret idea, had a few in the stables so let them run riot 3 mice killed and im sure once they smell the ferret they are long gone ( i also had a friend who had a pet weasel that did the same), failing that get a cat.
  18. i've done it...not nice no matter what you get wet and cold and then the gun get wet and the scope goes all foggy and distorted byt water on the lenses (nd i have a good scope), and mostly the bloody rabbits stay in doors.
  19. Get hold of the police to ask if they had anyone phone up. that would be the worst thing loosing a dog.
  20. i agree i have proberly the worst feeder going in regards to rats but never had a problem a mouse or two but i have 2 cats so that sorted that, every so often when i wake in the night i flick the lamp on over my coop and never see an rats.
  21. I know a lady who has a really quite big house and her garden (about 3 acres all maintained with flowers) is inendated with rabbits, so she doesnt want guns as it still close the the house and ferrets are out of the question just on the off chance they lay up, so dogs would be the answer except i dont have a running dog (thinking of a whippet tho) so i have to longnet it which is tricky as its so small and her she has pebble paths around the garden.
  22. I am lucky i agree being born into a family who has access to land and whatnot, but still i have never found gaining permission difficult. Being who i am i have never found myself in the position to give out permission but rather only policing it (which can be scary when you 15 and ask a bloke to stop running his dogs and driving round the feilds), that said i know farmer/landowners who would prefer people to run their dogs on their land than to shoot it, but wouldnt think about giving to someone they know already has poached it.
  23. just a word of warning, an injured mink aint a good thing and i wouldnt get too close just load your gun as soon as you take the shot, just incase.
