at least then you knew what the score was. personally (and not to sound like an anarchist) something needs to be done.
  3. I think its disgusting, i live in greater london and i had the unfortunate experience of goin to woolwhich, my cousin has been mugged and beaten up twice there, what was the polices' responce to tell him "woolwhich is a no go zone for white male youths". So the shooting is being held at the barracks, the only remaining barracks in London, so what in the case of terrorist attack where are the troop goin to coming from (i know its a long shot but i would have thought this would be considered). and the money, completely wasted on a new site when there is a perfectly good one a bisley. crazy!
  4. yh i have but its gotta be the right time of year to avoid all the poly tunnels. but i'll look around for some better running permissions and get my face down there
  5. well there are no hares around here for miles so i guess it would be rabbits, either lamped, or ferreted of bit of mooching. can you run dog is woods, its fairly open woods if know what i mean??
  6. RWS Zlang (around 30ftlb apparently) i think they are called for a single projectile but if you after shot then CCI do one, but not sure how difficult they are to get hold of. others will know more than myself though.
  7. cheers, i just dont want to rush into and waste a good dog say if i dont have enough time to work it and what not.
  8. hi there lads and lass. Right, i've never had or seen running dog working, but i really would like to. at the moment im just thinking whether or not it would be practical and fair to keep a long dog (something like a beddlington X whippet), so im asking you guys and "gals" the ins and outs of working a running dog, like what diet it needs, how long and difficult it is to train one and what sort of permission you need (and anything other would be really helpful too as i doubt i would ever think of something). Hopefully i should be driving by the end of the year and i have ferrets so shoul
  9. i bloody hate those dogs, theres a lady who only walks her rogs (rat X dog) when its sunny and they always go for my dog and time and time again i've told her my dog doesnt like lil dogs trying to bite him or me. i've threatened to turn it into a pug next time it runs up to my boots.
  10. buster i think you've just let yourself something here.
  11. I've got a trials bike, its a sherco 125 '04 but im selling up as im doing more shooting and want to buy a new gun.
  12. i beleive your right freddy.
  13. Are you adding to it if and when you find out what people use, because as i said in my RWS excalibre .22 i use accupells or air arms diablo 5.51 just thought if anyone else has this gun but i dont know many who do.
  14. well i've got a RWS excalibre (pcp) and a BSA lightning both in .22, the RWS is the one i use most and for longer range shots, the BSA is bit like a "spare" gun but would use it for close range stuff or maybe from a hide.
  15. I was wondering if anyones used these before? as i cant quite make my mind up on them, does the slight hollow point really allow then to expand much and does it reduce accuracy. atm im using accupells and tin before was AA diablo, both in .22 and i dont have much faith in hollow points as they just seem to fly anywhere.
  16. so what if you catch a trout on fly its the same points as if you catch it on a worm or bread flake.???
  17. Dont quote me on this but i thought that if the gun is capable of doing over 12ftlbs then you need an FAC, so even if you used different pellets to get the gun below 12ftlbs, the gun would still be capable of being ovewr the limit. so other than that cut the spring down if its a springer or take it to the gunsmiths to lower the limit as for the how far over it is, i think its not worth the risk as it is a firearms so they are bound to act upon it.
  18. Use a electric fence as well, what i do is do two band of it, one low and out a bit, the other higher and in a bit, this way they cant try sneaking under it, one that makes a noise aswell also keeps them on their toes when ever it sounds.
  19. how about a drop net set along where they coming from and drop it behind them???
  20. I agree although, i do consider myslef one of the "young lads" (im 17), if the young people on this forum wish to bikker then is their away of keeping it in the young persons bit of the forum (as long as it doesnt demote our sport/way of life, in which case it should be deleted immeadiatly, same said if they are older), but if they wish to seek advise then i know almost everyone on here will be willing to offer it to them. also agree its all the same suspects.
  21. Im not sure how true this is but: i was told that there was a hunting gene that if you didnt hunt could lead to depresseion, i was told about by some american people on of my dad side of the family, but it might just be a good excuse to go shooting.
  22. imo you get what you pay for. so id rather pay few quid or pence more and have something thats going to shoot well. But by all means try them and if they are any good in your gun, tell me and i'll by some for my lightning (just got it and goin out with it this week)
  23. I did something similar but i used about £5 worth of blue-tac used to use bisley magnums but being soo darn heavy is good close range upto 20yrds but then it drops pretty quick, in an FAC rifle thaey are superb (through and through a rabbits chest) but in sub 12ftlbs i still will be using accupells ir Air arms diablo whatevvers and just lube em up. accupeel do kill and are accurate which is paramount. I would like to get my mitts on a .177 and have a play. As for hollow points i would avoid them unless doing indoor or really close range pest control like rats or ferals. I shot a pigeon and
