    I would have thought the shogun would be more economical. Bigger engine, less reving etc? If it were your money what wouyld you go for and why?. It wont be doing a great deal of towing. Will mainly be used for running about, shooting/lamping/digging and running dogs so will take a bit of abuse but still needs to be comfortable for day to day use. Cheers. FTB

    I am looking into the possibility of buying a 4x4. I have narrowed it down to either a Hilux pickup or a shogun commercial (3.2). Thing is, I am not the most experienced with this so hopefully some knowledgable people will help me with my questions. What will be most economical(mpg)? Best offroad? What will be most reliable, and cheapest to fix when something goes wrong? What is likely to go wrong and what will it cost (bearing in mind it will be second hand and most lkely 50k+ miles)?     I got a new job last week. Moved my whole life 3 hours up north into the middle of nowhere. The last thing I would ever think about is selling my dogs. But hey, some are more commited than others and some are in it for the long haul. FTB

    No i had 7 on the Sunday but only 5 digs Plenty of lads getting good numbers with good dogs and none of them would breed from a young bitch that has barley done any real graft. A young dog with only 20 digs to it's name will probably of not even done 10 hours to ground all together. Don't believe you. I don't doubt some people have had 20 digs in a week... But not with one dog, and not by someone who then goes on an internet forum and blows his trumpet about it. FTB

    What with al the big opinions on how to test a dog (how long it stays to ground, how many times dug to and at what depth etc) you would be led to believe that a hard digging terrier is all thet is worth breeding off. To all the experts out there, how do you measure a baying/bolting terriers worthieness to breed, if they are at all?. My answer to this, is that you cannot quantify or measure a dogs working ability based on these set 'rules'. Alot of it is to do with your own judgement of character. Some people will never breed good dogs because of this. It is more of an art/science t
