I, very regrettably, have to get rid of all my ferrets, as work commitments will not allow me to graft them the way they deserve.     I know a lad who keeps a few and are good grafters. A bit on the silly hard, as opposed to sensible hard to account for a respectable number each season. If you get the right stuff, of which there is some still about, and not get blinded by these big names that get put about, you can get a decent worker. Although to be fair, that goes for most types. FTB ok let me ask you this : 118 hares in 3hours , do you think that is a pest problem . YES or NO ??? Let me ask you this, 430 white hares in a day on a perthshire moor. Problem yes or no?     No, I wouldn't. My brother is a keeper and when his headkeeper told him to flatten the brown hares on the estate (of which there are pleanty) and he could keep any money he got from the game dealer (abour £4 a hare) he was told to go and f**k himself. Some sportsmen have principles. I have mine. As Goliath said hares were born to run and lurchers were born to course - and although it's illegal in the eyes of the law it aint to many decent honerouble sportsmen including myself. I am not going to take the bait, as I know chimp put this up to deliberately provoke a reaction...

    If it's too big...it's too big. End of. There are some situations where a dog will push through (light soils), but on the other hand the fox will be digging on itself in those situations and it needs a special dog to follow it tirelessly. I had one last year in an old rabbit burrow with sandy soil. The fox was digging on faster than my bitch (who is very small BTW). We only managed to get it by sinking a second hole in front of the fox (with a bit of guestimation). Some of the dogs bred these days are far too big, not in height (as a leggy dog will fit places you wouldnt believe),

    Things could always be worse. Try to be optimistic and concentrate on the good things. Spend more time with friends and family. Got outdoors relax and enjoy yourself. This may be terrible advice but I've never felt as bad as you obviously do, and I'm a fsairly easy going guy. Hope all goes well with whatever you are going through.     Don't think he was asking why mate. Was asking how. When I put a dog in a rock pile I have no intention of digging it out so I choose a dog accordingly. Much the same as I would put a dog in a steel pipe and pray for a bolt.
