  1. Hi, mate. A shooting pal of mine had two 80s in .22 and they both shoot best with either AA Fields and H and N FTTs. Bear in mind though that what works well in one gun may not work best in another, even of the same type but it may be a starting point for you Cheers.
  2. absolutely bang on andy mate it should be here in 4 weeks, or 26 sleeps... the new model 430 with t-06 trigger and sliding pellet port, oh yes i had a little windfall and the missus gave it the greenlight, hence the pm concerning low scopes as i wanna keep it old school, nice small optics and no moderator, since that'd truely ruin a thing of beauty... i hate waiting tho! cheers, wurz Ooooooh, I'd be foaming at the gash waiting for that!!!! Great choice, Wurz, I really rate Diana's gun's and it's just a shame they aren't more widely used IMO. They are at least as g
  3. What a thing, I want one!!! Interesting film. Peace through superior fire power..... Hmmmmm..... God bless America
  4. Nicely done, Wurz Diana Stutzen...??
  5. Andy could you make it over with us on Thursday afternoon if you can make it over and say, meet up with us at the same field? We'll have a session on Friday if that's a no-go! Simon Hi, Simon. I can do Thursday no problem, mate, I've a few things I need to do but I should be able to get to the shoot by about five ish. See you then
  6. Thanks for doing the right up, Si I had a thoruoghly enjoyable days shooting with you and Simon, it was good to meet up. I have to say what a pleasure it was to shoot with your R10, it really is a very well sorted bit of kit. I tried an Ultra a couple of years back before I settled on the 410 and TBH, I didn't really like it but that R10 of your's is lovely to shoot. I'm up for a bit of lamping at the end of the week, Friday would be best for me as I've got the day free but I could manage Thursday but not until late afternoon. I've got my own gear so no need for me to borrow your's.
  7. Hi, mate. I don't know much about Cometa rifles but I do a bit about Titan springs... If they list one for your gun make sure you fit a round wire spring and NOT a square section one. The square section springs always over spring the gun makeing it awful to shoot and they also have a habbit of failing very early too. Titan and OX are the same square section wire rubbish that does not work but their round wire springs tend to be very good Cheers.
  8. Is that Fountains Abbey in the first pic and is the fifth one overlooking Fewston?? Lovely pics, where ever it is
  9. It did go a bit off track, didn't it. The Ultra's a very good gun but if you're worried about a lack of power then the only answer is to have it chronoed.
  10. Have you tried to contact Crosman?? Their customer service is normally fairly good, mate
  11. It's a right load of old bollox this whole 'maximum distance' thing Mine won't be the same as the next man and his probably won't be the same as your's. It is, quite simply, whatever range you can reliably put a least % of your shots within a group of about an inch. I do a lot of standing shots and when I'm doing that, mine's no more than 30 yards. If I'm sitting I can go out a little further and I've only very recently started shooting prone and I'm not sure yet what my maximum is from this position. If you can't do better than an inch at ten yards, then that's your maximum.
  12. maybe think of what the guy has been through himself! hed cancer and now hes clear maybe that makes your thinkin a little different to anyone else! reckon if id had it id maybe a little selfish. my thoughts go out to the little boy and with all my best wishes i hope he recovers and lives a long and healthy life! butto be fair this is a hunting forum and the morals of individuals with a family problem is not the sort of thing that should really be discussed! and if the poster of this thread is involved in the treatment of the said family! WRONG!! yis jonny Im not involved in any
  13. I take it this has a proper point which guessing from you avatar is work related....? If some knob puts a holiday before a vital treatment for their child then they're not fit to look after children. That's disgusting.
  14. Nicely done, Scott, that's a bloody good sized rabbit you've bagged there, mate
  15. Hi, mate. My two boys have been shooting with my Crossman Ratty for the past couple of years and have managed OK with it but I wanted them to learn properly with a recoiling rifle so they've been useing an old BSA Meteor that was given to us quite happily for the past few weeks. My boys are 9 and 12, average build. Cheers
  16. A good quality used HW, Diana or Air Arms springer any day of the week for me. For that money you'd get all the kit you'd need and no need to buy filling gear or have to get it blown back up again at the gun shop every five minutes when it goes flat
  17. Nice shooting, Fry and that's a lovely looking bit of land
  18. I know a great place in North Allerton for engine set up, if that's any help. My mate had his Defender set up by a place called Motoscope and it's come back like a different car. They set up a car for me a couple of years ago and they're a top set of lads to deal with. Cheers.
  19. Hope it clears up for you, Malt, it really is rather special
  20. Not quite. The pellet begins to drop FROM THE LINE OF THE BARREL as soon as it's fired. Your air rifles scope is at an angle to the barrel, to compensate for the pellet drop. It is set at an angle such that your pellets trajectory passes through the line of sight of the scope twice. This is necessary because the pellet starts out below the line of sight, then passes through the line of sight on the way up, and then drops through the line of sight again on the way down. The second point where the arc of the pellet intersects with the direct line of sight of the scope is where we w
  21. Don't waste your money, LM. By the time you've finished farting around with it, you may as well just chop it in for a S200 or something similar.
  22. I've just been out for a look and it's really stunning. Wish I had my proper camera with me instead of my crap phone.
