  1. The 90 I've had for over ten years and I've never had a problem with it. It must've fired twenty thousand or more shots and it's not missed a beat. It's my main gun and gets a fair bit of use. The Xocet was done about a year ago and probably only done a thousand or so shots. but so far so good. The other two have only been done a couple of months and haven't had much use yet, only a few hundred shots each, so dunno. They're kind of spares and I do collect springers! One thing though, if the 90 ever does leak, you can top them up. All the after-market kits, you can't.... They are se
  2. I've four guns with gas-rams. HW90, Webley Tracker and Xocet and a BSA Lightning. The three I converted all shoot much better. The recoil's a tad sharper with a ram fitted but I reckon it's no more than before. You lose the twangs and vibration the goes with a steel spring and they are quieter as you lose most of the mechanical noise. The best bit's not worrying about leaving the gun cocked for a long time. Never had the scope problems reported above though. Cheers.
  3. If I can sort out the rota with my ex Mrs and my kids, I will be there. Really hope I can mke it! Cheers.
  4. You're playing with fire there, mate. They have rules for a very good reason! It'll only stand so much. Cheers.
  5. agreed mate Ive owned several 95,s as well as the xl, got rid of mine after 12 month. id never buy another lightning. 95 it is then mate , what difference does the theoben gas ram in the 90 is that worth a look at. i know nuneaton well i live just the other side of tamworth four oaks way Hi, mate. I use a 90 and I really can't fault it. I've had it for over ten years and put many thousands of pellets through it and it's never missed a beat. It's got a bit more weight than the 95 but I prefer a heavy gun as I find them easier to hold steady as most of my shots are standing.
  6. Sounds good to me, if you're cool with that? If I'm free, I'd love to put some faces to the names! Cheers!

  8. Hi, folks. There's been a couple of threads on these lately and a good few folks seem to be into bow sports. I know this is a field sports forum, but why not have a section for this? There's a slot for clay shooters, so why not this too?? Anyone else interested? Cheers. Andy.
  9. how do i change the section mate lol Not sure, mate, I'm a techno f***wit! Have a look in the 'edit' section, or start again I guess. It's all I can do with computers to get this far! Cheers.
  10. Hi, mate. You're in the wrong section, but good luck anyway! Cheers.
  11. Dead right! I started when I was 10 with a 12lb fiberglass longbow. Keep within your limits. No prizes for pulling extra lb's! Cheers.
  12. What bow is it, mate? I use a Merlin Max 2000 55lb draw. Cheers.
  13. They're ok for what they are. Stick to recurve to start with. Cheap compound bows are nothing but agg. If you can go a little extra cash, have a look at Genesis bows, there's often one or two on e-bay. Also, check out the spell check function on your computer. Cheers.
  14. Those cheap Chinese bows aren't worth a w**k, mate. It'll break in no time and getting spares ain't fun. For anything worth having you're going to be looking at at least £400 and up for a Horton or similar. I've a Barnet Quad 400 and it's bloody stupid! So much power that even the best back-stops don't stop the arrows. Bow clubs hate crossbows, so you can't use them there. You can't hunt with them and each time you lose or damage an arrow, it costs you a fiver....... Not much point unless you've got pots of cash and a huge shooting range to play on. Cheers. Edit to say, ev
  15. Just like to say a big 'thanks' to Bitch ( cheers, Paul!!) for sorting out a top deal for his .177 52. Top bloke! Dead straight, patient and true to his word. Cheers!!!!!
  16. I really can't see why you're even bothering to think that far ahead, Michael. When that .25 Baracuda launched by Korea touches back down, we've all had it. Cheers.
  17. The trick with springers is you don't 'hold' them, you let them rest. Whatever position you're shooting from just support the weight of the gun rather than trying to grip it. That way the gun can recoil in it's own happy way each time instead of your grip dictateing the way it recoils. The problem is that the gun moves before the shot's left the barrel and that's what neeeds to be remembered and accounted for. Never rest it on anything solid (as has been said), just let it sit in your hands or on something soft and you should be OK. Cheers.
  18. I can fire my Gat gun faster than that, so ner-ner.... Cheers.
  19. They don't taste as good though... Cheers.
  20. Try the search function on the forum, mate. You'll get more 'opinions' on this than pretty much any other subject! Cheers. No 'better', just not the same....
  21. Think he was refering the fact that he meant PCP not gas ram. No my friend you have been had as i don't think any of us understand your post. I hope the answers were useful bunks. ATB Freddy Freddy? I didn't post it, I just read through it! Cheers.
  22. I think you've been had, fellas!!
  23. Mate, your idea's flawed. ANY contact with the round is bad. You'd never be able to have it machined well enough for that from steel, never mind plastic. You must have clearance for the round to pass through. Cheers.
  24. Hi, mate. I saw a post about this a while back, so had a look in mine. Yup!! Two blue ones in mine!! Cheers.
