Hi, mate. There's not much to seperate the two as regards performance and handling. Both are top class springers. Best thing to do is try to have a go with both and see what feels best for you. Either way, you won't go far wrong. Cheers.

Nice one, SS. This has gone past daft and transened, well, whatever. This is and should continue to be a place where like minded folks should be able to share their thoughts and opinions, but of late it's just become a kids playground, and that's very sad....... I know airguns are often the staritng point of many a shooters's future in field sports but it really does feel that the test subjets are running the experiment. I've no idea how you guys need to procede, but if somethings not done, the whole airgun section's going to turn into the joke of the whole forum. Good luck

Oh dear. Looking forward to seeing some of the lads at Davy's but most of this section really needs to get it's sh1t sorted before the mods pull it for turning into a kinder-ground for folks to slag each other off. Grow up Cheersish.

I've had three from Donnyc, top service and far less cash than Theoben. They are exactly the same ram, made by AWT who also make them for Theoben. Cheers.

Although I don't dispute the quality of these guns, they are all in a similar price bracket!!!! (£600-£800) I would suggest something like the following; Top end - S410/HW100t/Rapid Middle Range - BSA Ultra/AA S200 Lower End - BSA Lightening XL Budget - Any decent second hand springer (BSA, Webley, Weihrauch, etc, etc) I might aswell join in Top end - Daystate air wolf / Theoben rapid / FX Verminator Middle range - S400 series / BSA R10 / HW100 Lower end - HW90 / Webley longbow / BSA lightning How can you put the 90 in the same class as a Lightning?? I've got both

Voted .177 as I've used it for a long time. Started with .22 (30 fecking years ago!!) but found the smaller caliber better with a sub FAC gun. That said, I've been useing .20 for a while now and I am well pleased with it, but that wasn't on the first post so gets my vote now. Cheers. Edit to say.... COCK!!!!! I ment to put this on the .177, .22 poll thing (hate polls!). Must stop posting after the pub........

Whatever round headed pellet suits your gun best. It's all about hitting the target exactly where you need to. Try as many types as you can to see what shoots most accurately for you. Cheers.

I use AA Fields from my Ratty and have no problems with body shots. Heart, lung area drops them well dead! Cheers.

sound advice i did it the first time and the safety was wedged on, so i have learnt hw90 owners. pull the safety lever (small silver coloured plated with a v shape missing) forward till it clicks then put on the gaurd as far as possible and while keeping pressure on, pull the trigger to release it. the guard should now line up perfectly and screw on in position. you live and learn hey Yes, it's any easy mistake to make if you don't know or learn the hard way like I did. Ahem..... Cheers.

B careful when you put the trigger back on. The safety re-set under the trigger guard must slot into the mechanism on the action, or it'll bend and bugger up the re-set when you tighten the screws. Try it with the stock off first and you'll see what i mean. Cheers.
