  1. strong wind can be a real pain in the a*se when ferreting we find the rabbits very reluctant to bolt maybe due to human scent blowing down the holes at least you got a few well done mate

  3. Some times the weather gets the better of yer and you have to admit defeat we have had a couple of outings this season the same but as you rightly say mate thats ferreting

  12. good luck to you mate hope it leads to some good permissions for you
  13. if you are so keen on keeping up the country life why dont you get some ferrets and do it yourself and as regards slaming shooting as a lazy method thats not what was said lamping accounts for hundreds of rabbits proberly more that ferreting ever does but it takes no effort ferrreting does so instead of sitting there in your breeks talking your college boy language have a go at ferreting yourself and practice what you preach mister countryside
  14. Sorry i dont agree in the south of england ferreting is easy to get we have 1000s of acres of ground and quite often turn work away cos we dont have the time to do it the trouble is a lot of new ferreters steam straight in at the deep end with landowners turning up dressed to the nines in camo gear asking can they also shoot/use dogs/hawks etc etc on the 1st meeting this in turn automaticly gives the impression to the landowner of a couple of weekend warriors which nobody is gonna want running riot on there land ask yourself would you ?? get yourself in there with the ferreting first do a g
  15. The reason you will always be able to find someone to shoot the rabbits as you state you do yourself is because it takes no effort to drive round with a rifle out the window i do it myself on all my permissions through the summer months and shoot 100s of rabbits it looks to me that you are looking for someone to do all the hard graft after yourself has done the easy bit good luck in finding someone to do it cos personaly wouldnt give it the time of day if we do the control on a bit of permission we do all the control not just the hardest bit what the shooters dont want to do if the land is not
  16. hope it turns out to be a good bit of ground for yer mate sometimes the small bits of permission you get end up full of bunnies cos they have been left alone for years
  17. could not belive it the snow has only just gone and after bolting 4 nice rabbits out of a burrie young rabbits started hole hopping the ferret got hold of the one in the picture so it had to be dispatched we picked up the ferrets and knocked it on the head for the day hope this is not the end of our season already anyone else had this yet ??
  18. You do get the same questions asked again and again but at the end of the day its not hurting anyone and if it bovers anyone dont reply to the post maybe the newbies like someone to chat to on the site with like minded intrests please be more patient with newbies
  19. We went out yesterday was all going well on a couple of small burries untill the last burrie of the day it was a fair size burrie so we pursed netted what we could and put long nets round the whole thing we entered 4 ferts to start with and the rabbits started to move ok as the action slowed down due to rabbits hole hopping we entered 1 fert at a time till we had 8 ferts working it we got 4 rabbits out the small burries and 10 out of this one 14 in all started picking up the ferts as they surfaced we picked up 7 of the ferts with no probs but the last fert no sign of got out the locator starte
