  4. We went out last night to do some lamping on some local council ground where we have permission to ferret and shoot and although it was not the best of lamping weather ie not much wind and not that overcast night we decided to give it a go anyway after spending about 30mins on the phone to the police to let them know where and when we were going with what motor and what guns we were taking we were given a refrence number we always phone the police on certain permissions fo ours coz they are a bit public sensitive and get a refrence number to save any hassell Well we turned up with the 22 ri
  5. Not bad at all mate well done
  6. All our nets are 4ft spun poly in all the bright colours we have about 300 in all its easy to see handles nice dont need double knotting and unlike hemp it dont rot thats not saying hemp is not good because it is but in my personal oppinion spun poly gets the edge because the colours are easy to see and the not rotting good luck with the net making mate whatever material you decide to use
  7. hope you get them both back ok mate
  8. Hi mate have made all my own purse nets for years and have used most of the main dealers ie jbs nets kp&s nets and bridport nets but dont think you can beat agouti (nigel) for price good gear and fast delivery good luck in making your own nets its easy once you have got the hang of it but be prepared to make a lot of f**k ups to start with and sore fingers but it wiil be worth it
  9. Just seen this ad in my new monthly issue of the national gamekeepers organisation might be some good to you rabbiters in the linconshire area looking to sell a few rabbits this season this is exactly how the advert reads RABBITS REQUIRED dear editor one side of our buisness which is rapidly growing is buying wild rabbits for processing for human and pet consimption we are finding difficulty in getting reliable supplies hear in lincolnshire this is partly because so much of the land is under crops for much of the year when people cannot get on the land or see to shoot the rabbits because of t
  10. Hi mate Nice bag of rabbits there regards your old ferret attacking the other one we have a 1yr old sandy jill she is housed with 8 other jills 1 vasectomised hob and although she sleeps/ feeds/works/ and lives with the others she goes mental if you put her in a box with any of the 8 ferrets there is only one other jill she will be boxed with otherwise she is a nightmare its crazy coz they all work fine down the holes but she just wont be boxed with most the others and she is not the dominant jill by a long way so dont understand it at all ?

  13. Hi all just started to get into air rifle shooting after being a great lover of the .22 rimfire for years which i still use all the time I have just bought my mates FAC air arms S410 .22 it is the 30pound power type can you guys tell me where on a rabbit you would try and place the pellet for a clean kill is it behind the eye or the eye its self or back of the head etc sorry if this sounds a bit thick but i am used to a rimfire and as you know you can kill a rabbit just as easy if you hit it in the ribs because of the vital organs as you can in the head will this S410 do the same ?? am l
  14. Brilliant reply some ferreters go on like its imposible to ferret without a locator its not but they can save you alot of time waiting if your ferret gets hung up but i would still advise you get one just to be on the safe side

  16. Hi phantom this might sound a bit blonde but whats the ME mean i now know the rifle is a 30pound one if that helps and going by what the other blokes are saying it should be good to shoot rabbits out to 70 odd yards Thanks to all you gents for your replies it is much appreciated max
  17. We have always used .22 rimfires for rabbits and small vermin etc so my knowledge of air rifles is not good im afraid we have just sold one of our rimfires and bought my mates F.A.C airarms S 410 for shooting closer up rabbits and i have to clear barns of feral pigeons quite often what i would like to know is how far humainly will this gun kill a rabbit out from if hit in the head and what is a good all round pellet for this job As said with the rimfire we shoot hundreds of rabbits lamping every year but would very much like to learn the realistic capability of this airarms we just bought
