Funny how we categorise ourselves to follow certain lines of thinking. There are lots of old Labour types in the North who support everything Labour offers except unrestrained immigration. It is such an important issue that a good number of them voted UKIP which is on the right.. My views are the economy are much further to the left than my views on immigration.

Maybe it's less complicated. There is a certain pattern of thought that dictates that if someone is of a certain ideology then they are incapable of moving away from it. For decades multiculturism has been the ideology of the ruling liberal elite, even if they can see the results of it being failure, they think by giving us more of the same, they will force us to make it work. It's not how many times they do it, it's how well they do it. Why do you assume the American screening process is more thorough than the British? Because they aren't as liberal as the good old UK. On the positive side. Cameron is only taking 4,000 a year, Germany could end up with a million this year and half a million in subsequent years, Merkel has actually said they could absorbe that many! Sweden has taken 100's of thousands too this year, plus they only have a small population. The ones Germany and Sweden are taking are are the general 'blow in' which has invaded Europe, mainly fighting age men with only 1 in 5 being Syrian. We are taking genuine Syrians, a lot being women and children from refugee camps. So as much as I don't like anything that increases our Muslim population

I can think of a better reason why they won't touch Israel.They would be wiped off the face of the earth in a week. Because suicide bombers are scared of dying? They could easily have infiltrated Israels borders and would have had support from all over the world. They have been dealing with the stuff for decades. Their intelligence service is second to none. They do get suicide bombers, but many are put off by the retribution carried out afterwards on the bombers families. Plenty of stabbing attacks going on now though. IS have plenty of softer targets they can occupy themselves

I think the polish have done just that. Can't blame them either, Yes the new government are very much against Muslim immigration and have told Jean Claud Wanker and Merkel that due to the Paris killings they will not risk the lives of their citizens by letting them into Poland.
