  1. Hi savageboy, i will probably get shouted at but hey i don't care. I have 3 hancock dogs and i am pleased with them all. My 3/4 greyhound 1/4 Collie bitch is the best out of the 3, she takes all quarry, jumps, retrieves live to hand and she has speed, shes 25.5''. The 1/2 cross also does what the 3/4 does, but he just lacks that extra speed, endless amounts of stamina and brains though, 27''. 3/8 5/8 will take anything but fox, but she won't jump, shes 24''. Tasha 3/4 greyhound 1/4 border collie. Wilfie 1/2 greyhound 1/2 border collie. Harriet 5/8
  2. I wonder if the BBC are interested in a canine makeover show
  3. Yes collie/grey we should start putting up on here to see if anyone else is going to a show we plan to visit. I see a couple of nice merles like your one there, maybe one of them was yours! There was a couple of nice whippet/beds too, your bitch looks just like a whippet, you've got a good eye for a dog mate.
  4. something about the tail, maybe springer / border terrier
  5. I was there too, lovely bitch whats she crossed with mate?
  6. Healthy looking pups mate, place looks spotless too
  7. Sorry to say this but this site really stamps on people who show any dislike of bull bred lurchers, i think to use a dog which has only been bred for fighting and not hunting will not give you an all round lurcher. Most seem to be hard mouthed fox killers which is fine but hardly an all rounder. You say that the bull terriers have only been bred for fighting...so why are they called BULL terriers ? Also then by you own admission why use a dog thats only been bred to herd sheep ? I think most of the bull in the lurchers on this site are APBT which are bred for fighting and not bul

  9. Hi Simoman, I was thinking about moving to Mandurah next town to Rockingham, looks like a good spot and with the money from my 2 bedroom flat i can but a canal side house, can't be bad! My visit at the begining of last year i flew into Adelaide drove across the Nullarbour and worked my way around the bottom of WA up past Perth as far as Exmouth and back down to Perth again. Did it in a little Nissan which did the whole journey without a hitch, took me 2 months in total, did'nt rush. Yes some things take some getting used to, i remember driving through some green fields down the bottom of WA
  10. Ozhound Your lurcher sounds an interesting cross, must have been a bit of a task for the JR. Thanks for your offer to send me a dog over, i'll keep you informed of my progress, i'll also work on my mate to get into working dogs he seemed pretty interested last time i brought up the subject. My friend is from Morwell Victoria, he moved over to Perth to be closer to his fiances family, top bloke we became friends working together in London. On my last visit i liked the look of those Kelpies, sharp looking and not too heavy built could be a good cross with a greyhound for smaller stuff. Bullcat
  11. Hello mate, i had a feeling it would be expensive about £2500 i guess also the heat could be a problem for a British dog. I went across to Perth with my mate last year he's from Victoria was living in Melbourne, he said the hunting was good in Victoria but he had never heard of lurchers, he had lamped roos mainly from the back of a pickup. What do you use to course hares there? I decided on WA because of the slower pace of life, real rat race here close to London. Thanks for your info

  15. I just got myself a skilled migration visa for Australia, thinking about moving somewhere south of Perth. I just wondered about the hunting there, do people hunt rabbits with dogs much, i seem to hear about mainly bigger stuff. I was thinking about training up a collie/greyhound and taking it with me, i'd be glad of any information anyone can give me. Cheers
  16. Fine looking dog, really looks like you've spent some time on him
