  1. I think we're on the verge of a new generation of LED lamps which would need a fraction of the battery power therefore the battery could be 1/5 the size of the ones we use now. The small LED torches are impressive enough but are a bit lazer like for a dog to work with, i'm sure manufactures are working on something right now.
  2. I think i'd go for a collie grey back to a whippet next time, i like bitches 19" to 22".
  3. Well with my bitch she stands back and weighs up situations instead of like some terriers flying in and thinking about it after. She does as she's told, does'nt pull on the lead and is not one for fighting but will stick up for herself if she has to. She's not very yappy and when i take her out she will sit quietly on my passenger seat. Saying all that she is constantly on the go when there are rabbits about. I like her character because i am a running dog fan first and the beddy i think is about closest in temperament to a running dog. Others prefer the high octane, all action working o
  4. I think out crossing to a border is a good choice because they share a common ancestry and are both sensible types. Mine reminds me of droopy from the cartoon, looks dopey then suddenly bursts into life. I think they have a lot of potential in the right hands, mine takes a bit of a back seat, don't expect much of her just working cover while my lurcher gets the training. Shepp
  5. People littering and fly tipping, nothing more complicated than that. Sorry thats not irrational.
  6. No a collie grey and a beddy, i would rather stick with the collie types, for me the original and best.
  7. If the poodle is a standard one from working stock then i don't see what the big deal is. Nobody would bat an eye lid if we were talking about a Labrador cross, a standard poodle in it's working form is just another retreiver and is possibly the most athletic one. Not much thought going into the posts on this thread.

Well you see them chavs with bull breeds everywhere. I think it's only a matter of time before many of these bull types are banned, the sad truth is how else can you regulate who is owning them.
  9. Mine is line bred from collie johns bitch and works out to be a little more collie than greyhound, on paper anyway.
  10. I have one from Rillington lines, great little bitch, works any cover. She retreives naturaly having never been taught, loves retreiving from water. I only use her for rabbiting. She is quite sensible and bright for a terrier but when on a scent she sometimes looses the ability to hear me. I think they have the best nose of any terrier but definately not the best coat. Good little dogs to have around, i would get another. Shepp
  11. Yes one of Labours gems along with Gordon Browns 'the end of boom and bust' just before we busted :wankerzo4:
  12. How come you have so many young dogs? All look good and well looked after.
  13. You made a bloody good job of that mate. You'd have trouble buying one for £150 on ebay.
  14. I prefer polecat hobs, slower and bite less.

  16. My old lurcher had one collar all her life. Just re-newed the leather twice and the buckel three times.
  17. Why not run him a nice warm bath with scented candles and relaxing music in the background. Followed by a foot massage using essential oils. Either that or leave him in the back garden for an hour and let him in after hes stopped fannying around. Shepp
  18. Field, Target, Trophy in my 177 HW100. Used Air Arms Diabolo Field before but found the extra weight of the FTT benefited with its hitting power.
  19. Hope you show the photo to the land owner Good work
  20. Nice to here these well articulated, considered opinions.
  21. It's on my 'to own one day list' too.
  22. I thought it was illegal to release a fox once caught, I wonder a body like a gamekeepers association or BASC would fund a court prosecution against such practice if enough evidence was gathered? It should be publicised so that all hunters keep there eyes open and maybe make a citizens arrest. Shepp
