    I had a dog running doubled up in a comp a few years ago he led up took the first 4 turns and was away with it when the other dog got a go bye and put some work in,my fella lost his action and I could see something was very wrong ,they lost the hare into cover after about 2 mins. When they came back my dog was carrying his front right leg,it was up like a foot ball he had failed to bank the dyke ,and broken it, I had to carry him half a mile off the field to the nearest vets in Lincs.I sometimes wonder if all the blokes that talk so disparagingly about dogs jacking ever think to wonder if the

    Interestingly the wolf at times seems to be adopting the submissive posture, rolling on to its back , but maybe its trying to guard its hindquarters?

    I agree I dont beleive any dog would take a fullgrown American or Russian wolf on its own ,and I dont care for these vids where you have several dogs attacking one animal ,to me it is baiting not sport, and probably a bagged animal anyway,it seems a miserable practice to me,any animal deserves to be taken out as quickly as possible ,that poor wretch will probably be put in a cage and brought out time and time again, similar to a video of a wolf on a long leash with teams of dogs attacking it shown a while back on You Tube ,its just wanton cruelty to me .

    I once saw two sheep guarding dogs in a remote village in Turkey , they must have been 30in at the shoulder ,wooly coated all shoulders and head with lurcher -like hind quarters, they had dew claws on all legs and were pure white, they must have weighed around 90lbs each . A shepherd assured me that together they would tackle a wolf. I beleive their wolf is quite a bit smaller than the Russian or American variety.

    Interesting post I have zero experience of wolves, but the one pictured looks smaller than the dog is it a youngster.I thought Borzois coursed and held wolves ,running in tandem are even three dogs,I must say I would doubt a borzoi ,or any other dog would be capable of killing a fully grown fit wolf ,but as I say I have no experience to go on.

    It will be interesting to see what excuses he comes up with, but evidently he jacked after 1hr 50 mins, saying there was not enough rabbits, but Tommo reckons they could have been into the 40's if they had carried on ! Cheers. I dont know the other lads but have met Tomo , and I would take his word without hesitation.Congratulations to LDR on both counts ,for Winning ,and organising the competiton ,and rising above all the petty, spiteful, back stabbing comments from a minority who seemed determined to sabotage a unique and riveting happening on here , long may it continue!

    Its possible the tape has bits from earlier days. Merlin and Eve have been dead for about 30 years I should think.I myself would love to have seen them run but never did.I dont think the fella was questioning your honesty and neither was I . ok mate thanks so what dogs you own/run Ive three ,an old Lucky dog who I keep just for various stuff,,a whippet collie /grey I use for rabbits and a younger dog fromLucky/ Drax lines ,he is 18months now and has a bruised foot at the minute from lamping some bunnies. sounds good al the best with your dogs mate and your self,FENS FEVER Same

I thought I would ask ,as seven days ago you were asking what was the best cross to take hares pre ban? Of the dogs you have mentioned , Charlie, Luke,Casper,Merlin ,Eve, Foxy. How many have you actually seen run ?
