    Anyone want to talk about how they've trace their family tree without mentioning monkeys, religion or fuuckin monuments? I have my granddad's sign up papers and a load of other stuff related to his history (and my grandma's) Set of wankers lol

    Anyway..... The DNA I did a few years ago confirmed the family oral history and then the paperwork trace also confirms it but goes way back... Can anyone else add their search experiences to the thread please.

    Going through his papers etc I've found my granddad's enlistment papers he signed. He wasn't called up, he signed up. I've even got the certificate papers that say he was "sten gun trained". Like I said, this is a bit of a question/history thread for all of us to add to.

    I've done the old records way too. Yet still DNA doesn't lie. I have very few European (Germanic, Latin, Nordic etc) or Scottish markers. Please explain why you think originally I would have that blood and why it's recent? Let's keep this an intelligent and amicable conversation please

    Good point and hopefully you know the history (Brian, Welsh safe harbour etc) but DNA doesn't lie. I have less than 2% markers from both combined.
