  1. All rifles will increase in power as they bed in and settle down. Not sure where this loss of zero comes in you are talking about, it doesn't make sense to me as what you are talking about is perfectly normal and correct. A chrono also only checks consistency of a rifle which is only part of accuracy. If the rifle raises in power then you re zero accordingly. A rifle that rises in power will change its zero normally impacting slightly, and its only slightly higher on the target. This is due to the pellet having a slight flatter trajectory than it previously had when zeroed
  2. Thanks Phil, Yes both calibres do the job 100% for hunting vermin, but the .177 is obviously the calibre for FT and HFT. They both have their pro's and con's but as you say its what you like the best i think. Si.
  3. Yes Shay, I would love too pal. Im a bit busy at the moment and am shooting in a military comp at the weekend but would love to meet up again for some shooting. Si.
  4. Cheers all . Ok Davy see you soon pal. Stay safe. Si.
  5. Welcome buddy. Some good lads and lasses in this section. Si.
  6. Yes true Steve, It takes a lot more knowledge of your combo to make accurate shots at different ranges with a .22 calibre pellet. Sitting on your zero is fine but making long range shots is where the skill is in with .22 calibre shooting. I think that's why you get the old rumour that so many believe in that a .177 is more accurate than a .22. This rumour is utter rubbish and both calibres are as accurate as each other. Where the in- accuracies come in is with the shooter themselves not having the practice and understanding of the ballistics involved to master the calibre.

  9. I don't mind either calibre buddy but my favourite is by far the .22 calibre. My next rifles will be in .22 calibre for sure. Si
  10. Hi lads, Here is a short 7 minute clip of just some of what I have been up to over the past few weeks since the Hunting Life Meet. In this clip I am using 3 different air rifles in 2 calibres to shoot corvids, pigeons and a long range collared dove. ATVB Si.

    SQUIZER

Nice one Chris. The r10 is looking very nice too. Si.
  12. Hawke gets my vote. What's your budget? Probably not in your budget buddy but if it is go for a Hawke Sidewinder Tac 30 4.5 - 14 x44 with half mildots. I use a Hawke Sidewinder 3-12 x 50 30 model. Not the TAC version but its still a brilliant scope. I haven't seen one yet that I feel betters it by much less the expensive German models. I reckon the TAC 30 is better for air rifle use though and its what I'm getting in Jan. Si.
  13. OK partner . Thought the pc was playing up for a minute. Got some really good HD scope camera footage today on the corvids for us buddy . 7 in the morning with the .22 XVI out to 40 metres and another 6 in the afternoon with the Ultra from 42 to 53 metres . Added it to the project folder ;) . Si.
  14. Am i missing something here?
  15. That's spot on ..It's a good scope for around the £120 £130 mark. Im starting to wounder the effective killing range for the sub 12 .177 pcp..I know there good at +yard's...It seem If you can hit it on the button this side of 100yard's It will go down..Weather condition's permitting. I know shooting extream long distance with such a small bit of lead has Its disadvantage's, what would you call a good limit for the sub 12 with out taking to much of a risk as to injuring an animal rather than killing it cleanly. Personally my limit seem's to be into the 60yard weather condition's permitti
  16. Very very duty bound and mean looking rifle that Craig. I can see it is pure quality. If it shoots any where near as good as it looks its going to be awesome. For me that's the best looking rifle Ive seen on here for a long time and just my personal cup of tea. I'm jealous . I think the only difference I would of had is that I would of gone for a .22 as shooting the XVI these past few days in the wind we have had here has really brought back my passion for the bigger calibre and the HW100 has been sat in the cabinet feeling sorry for itself. I really look forward to seeing s
  17. Nice long range sub 12 shot that buddy, well in. Got a Hawke Varmint on my Mrs Ultra. Nice little half mildot scopes they are for there price. Si.
  18. Very nice shooting there Ste and 2 lovely rifles. Love the 50 metre bunny at the start of the clip. Very nice shot and must of been perfect shot placement. ATB Si.

  21. There fine to about 20 metres pal. Good for rats. Si.
  22. Here is just a quick photo of the mark 5 Digi Rat Spotter. Differences are: New case Better Sony 1/3 sensor chip camera incorporated into the design. More IR illuminators. Battery and recording unit now built into the unit itself (no trailing wires). Charge port now built into the unit. Tests that I have recorded that will be going onto YouTube some time soon show it giving a usable picture at 57 metres and the trees that the mark 3 just picked up at 41 metres are now very clear.
