  1. Lads I see what your all saying in different scenarios and I agree with you as you are correct. Here is a scenario to think about. Not too scale as a marble is a lot lighter than a cricket ball I know, but gives a example. .177 11.5 foot pound hitting a rabbit with a missed heart and lung shot in the chest cavity. Damage is a through shot with internal bleeding. Rabbit runs off and dies after a long and slow death. .25 same shot. Rabbit is knocked off its feet completely due to a larger surface area with a greater mass hitting it at a slower speed. Pellet probably stay
  2. From your list of rifles I would not buy any I'm afraid either friend . Do as the other lads have said and buy second hand. Air Arms or Weihrauch . Something like this one here that is well within your budget. http://www.guntrader.co.uk/Guns-For-Sale/Weihrauch_Air-Rifle_HW-95_For-Sale_121210212355823 Si.
  3. Myself and my shooting partner Davy (VerminHuntersTV) have just purchased a Lawmate PV1000 for our night vision recording on our channel. At £500 its no cheap mini DVR, but what you get is probably the best mini HD DVR currently anywhere in the world with 1280 x 960 recording quality and more whistles and bells than you can ever need. http://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/lawmate-pv1000.html If you have the funds for this recorder then i really do advise on getting one if you are serious about getting the best quality that you can. We will be doing a full review of it soon on VerminHun
  4. Tron your a proper gent. Roger is one of the nicest men on this forum that i have met personally and if anyone deserves that help he does. He is a full supporter to this section and anyone in it. Its a great gesture Tron. Si.
  5. Well in Davy . I see your doing pretty good pal at the moment. Nothing less than I would have expected from someone who shoots like you partner . Keep at it partner and looking at them scores (really close the top 7 lads) i can easily see you within the top 3 at the end . Also John brilliant buddy there in 4th place in the .22 section . Your only 2 points behind the lad in 3rd place . If you do well these last couple of rounds i can see you finishing in the top 3 easily buddy which would be awesome , and you say your not deserving of praise . Quality both of you, 5 *
  6. As soon as it gets quite in the area the rats are located. They seem to come out more in the dark as they feel safer, but will be out in the day if the area is quiet. Si.
  7. You can talk and debate about scopes and which is the best for ever Acuspell, as all scopes will have a positive plus a negative to it. I know German air rifle shooters from where i used to be posted 2 years ago that used Zeiss scopes on their 7 joule Weihrauchs to shoot at targets with in an indoor range 10 meter range. This scope was over kill for a air rifle IMO and would probably shoot 20 minutes longer than your scope would mate, probably five to ten times the cost though which is a big disadvantage and a big no need. http://www.uttings.c...-52-54-15-9960/ I personally hav
  8. No thats just the normal scope mate without the AO. The thing on the side is the blue and red illuminated ret dial
  9. When you say died do you mean that it wont turn on at all Roger? I am pretty good and fixing computers if its a software error. I am happy to have a look at it for you and try and fix it pal 4 free. Si.
  10. Yes hopefully all goes well with this new thing Tony as developed as the last time i spoke to him he did say he was almost there with the design and what he wanted to achieve with it. He's a perfectionist though and did say unless its flawless and perfect we wont get it fitted until it is. Knowing Tony he will sort it though.
  11. Thanks Elliott pal. No we have ordered 6 brand spanking rifles from Tony Wall, 3 of them are getting a new special procedure and tune that Tony Wall as just invented, and we (me and Davy) are getting the first 3 rifles with it done. The other 3 rifles (1 of them the Pro Sport and the other Laura's new Ultra) don't need tuning. The last rifle is a .22 calibre HW100 KT so that dont need tuning either. Full reviews will follow later in the next few months. Si.
  12. Hi Skot, Yes I've already got a brand new Hawke Panorama EV 4 - 12 x 40 mm AO IR sat in its box at home that the military lads bought for me as a leaving present that i will fit into medium mounts on the Pro Sport mate once i have fitted the Bisley adjustable butt pad. Going to try and get the center of the scope as close to the center of the barrel as possible to make for easier close range shooting if i ever use it for HFT. I've also got 2 Hawke Sidewinder TAC 30 SF 4 -14 x 42 mm with half mildot reticules for 2 other .177 springers Tony Wall is customizing for me and Davy, anoth
  13. Yeah the 16th of Feb we are filming there again Craig . Maybe me and Davy will see you there for a cuppa? Ill try not to Simon this time . Lovely rifles straight out the box are the Pro Sports.
  14. Another one that I have just found on Google. I think the butt pad will go along way to aid getting a good shooting position for your head using low / medium mounts with a 40 mm scope. Si.
  15. Hi lads, I've been looking at some new springers for myself for HFT and to use for hunting after really being hit by the springer bug again. I have regretted selling my old Pro Sport since it went when i was going through my divorce a few years ago. Well I'm coming to the time when i get my military pension lump sum so I though that i would treat myself to one again plus a few other toys for 2013 from Sandwell Field Sports. I saw this one on Google images with a Bisley adjustable butt pad fitted and fell in love with it so went and ordered myself a walnut .177 one and adjustabl
  16. Awesome lads . It looks like you had a great time at the farm . I've also been out this morning for a shoot . See you soon partner. Si.
  17. Same to you and your family Andy. How is the best pistol shooting in the country doing these days anyway . Si.
  18. Same 2 you VM Happy New Year Si.
  19. Dont be too hard on Miles lads. Some people just prefer a heavier rifle for their style of shooting. I do believe a heavier springer is easier to keep on aim longer. I'm a huge fan of the HW95K in its light / medium weight form as well as the BSA Ultra in its light form and the HW97KT / Pro Sport in their heavy forms. For my own personal choice of favorite springers I would say: Out the box heavy weight springer, without a single doubt = Air Arms Pro Sport, nothing i have ever shot out the box matches it. I liked it even more than the TX200HC. Tuned heavy weight springer =
  20. Can i please ask why you must have open sights mate? Sure they are great for fast target acquisition, ratting at very close ranges as well as ferals but you have not mentioned that. Having open sights you are narrowing your choices by a lot mate. A good scope will also allow you fast target acquisition (on low mag) and you to shoot targets close (on low mag) and at far distances on a higher mag. If you are buying a Weihrauch which is one of the best of (I would say 2 brands of springer) the other being Air Arms on the market, you really want to get the best out of it mate which
  21. Very many happy congrats Archie . Si.
  22. Brilliant small write up buddy. The rifle looks well. Is it .22? Si.
