hmm well at first i thought the huge group was because the barrel was hot, i admit i did put 20 rounds through in 30mins but its a varmit barrel so i would have though it could take that heat, anyway the order or shots was center patch first of v-max grouping at 3/4" then the accutips at 4+" and then i put the v-max back through and got the 1" group. this was done off a bipod so if i fully benched it im sure i could get it alot tighter which i will do when i get to the reloading stage, but i still though 4+" was a bit extreme at 50yards. would the moderator getting hot affect the groups??

its the 2nd time ive used them, last time i tryed to zero with them and they went all over the place again, ah well ive only got 4 of them left ill use them up next time. is this the fun i have to come trying to find a good load when i start reloading. oh its a remmington 700 sps im using.

Went down the range today to have a play with the .223 have got 2 different round's 1. Norma 50gr V-max Hornady 2. Remmington Premier Accutips 50gr I zero'ed in using the v-max and got 2 groups at 50m of 1" and 3/4", i think i can get better if i had a softer trigger pull this remmington standard is far to heavy. then i tryed the accutips they grouped at 4 1/2" which i thought was a bit off i wouldnt have expected that kind of difference between 2 differnt types but same weights is this normal?? oh as you can see on the picture the first 2 rounds of the accutips touched eachother th

both, shall be shooting at 600m targets on the odd occasion and then live quary at the 100-200 yard mark -
not seen her live but her voice is just awsome, oh and shes quite pleasing to the eye i think too. bet you could see that stage from miles away with all them lights

Right now ive finaly steped up from the .22 rimmy up to a .223 and have brought myself a MTC viper scope, which is 1/8in at 100 on the turrets. now i neer usualy bothered with adjusting my .22 turrents as it was a pain and i had to keep taking the cap off and using a screwdriver so i used to use the dots as a way of telling me where to shoot. anyway back to the matter in hand, ive used the remmington balistic calculator thing to work out what will be the drop/rise of seting my zero at 200yards when using a 50yard range (needs to shoot .38 inches above). but i cant understand how you then adjus

dose it have to be a disco?? i have a mitsi pajero which is far more comftable to drive, more features and i think more reliable than a disco (i have driven a few old ones and i wasnt taken by them) but it dose drink the old fuel. just a thought. AzMaN

Howdie all, I'm looking for a scope mounted lamp which can be used for foxing (200yards ish) and can have different fiters on it, but can be battery or 12v car power opperated. any ideas?? was looking at maybe the lightforce 170??

thats void, you cant second yourself

i have to agree as an only gun i whould have got an o/u, i brought my semi first as i liked the low recol and the extra round, but i cant go on the local shoots as they dont like semi's so i end up using somones s/s that kicks like a mule. now i need to save up for an o/u for next season so i can actualy partcipate.

i have a t8 on mine, but mine weights a ton as i have the varmit barrel anyways so a little bit extra from the t8 isn't that noticable. i do hate the fact its not stripable though.

I brought second hand, admitadly it was via a dealer. he told me when buying second hand look for any pitting in the barrel by looking down both ends with a light at one end, if its had a silencer check the crown and if it still has a silencer check for pitting inside this too on the baffles. mine was spotless as the guy previous had only put 2 rounds through it.

calender was on the mat when i got home today and i wish to thank all those who took part in making a stunning calender.

Whats wrong with the hatsan, I and several other shooting mates use if as a multi-purpose gun from clays to birds to rabbits.

I get 20mpg if im lucky out my 2.8 pajero costs me about £40 a week in fuel, but its like driving an armchair to work and round the fields so im not too fussed
-
i've only had it a week or so and this was its first outing but image seams clear on it, i like the quick adjust turrets but i have one gripe with it, the parallax adjustment nob is a bit stiff which would make it very difficult in the winter with gloves on and i cant fit the big wheel on as it catches on my scope mounts but hopefully it will get a bit better with time. Oh yer the reason i brought it is because sporting shooter recomended it

My latest purchase, Remmington 700 SPS varmit, T8 moderator, MTC Viper 6-24x56 optics.

just an update on my previous post, these RWS group better than the eley's, i think i shall be using them from now on.
-
my god this ammo is expensive, over £1 a shot for a .223 i think i will definatly be re-loading, just need to save up for the gear and away we go
-
local shop has run out of eley, says they wont have any untill january ive got some RWS subs, he says they are meant to be quite good its a new type in a silver box (well i think its a new type, having never used rws before im just guessing from the others he had in the cuboard) will take them down the range tonight and compare them to the eleys.

ya i just watched some of them videos too, the american guy with the rcbs stuff seams to get a bit confused with his words though. the wilderness productions one i thought knew what he was on about though.

thanks for all that advice graham, I'll start off with the lee kit i think, as its cheap then upgrade the parts as they wear/break (It will be mostly used for vermin/fox so good accuracy with resonable cost is my aim). I do intend on reloding other calibers, i have a 6.5x55 on my ticket but i thought i would start off with the smaller caliber, and hopefuly cheaper loading to play around with (the principle i assume will be the same). I'm looking for a speer manual at the moment, dose it mater if its not the latest revision?? Thanks again. Azman

definatly .22, and maybe a 223 or 22-250 for the fox? if they will grant you centerfire on first application that is. oh and i agree with the others must put moderators on the list, makes the .22 virtualy silent with subsonic ammo.
-
I was looking at getting the Lee's kit, which i think has all that list in it apart from the dies. I havent actualy got the gun yet, they are holding it for me but should pick it up mid week and i'll probably buy a mixture of factory ammo just to see what weights it groups best with, then proceed from there.
