Out for a mooch today with Murphy working along the hedges pulled a rabbit from a hedge with myomatosis a short time later in the next field had a short run before he picked up and returned to me with another poor little bugger about a mile away caught a healthy rabbit and in the same field started to hunt up and returned with a live and kicking rabbit on closer inspection it also had myomatosis. Its not looking good, its hard enough finding somewere to work my dog just hope not going to get any worse.

Some nice looking dogs here, thinking of adding another dog was going for another pure whippet to run with my present dog but I also like the idea of adding something to the pot, what are peoples thoughts, what or why did they choose the cross that you have eg,BedxWH ColXWh, StaffxWh SalukixWh ect,how different if any are the dogs bred the other way eg WippetxSaluki. ect.

Thought i would put some picks up of my whippet, we where invited to tag along on a days rabbiting, my dog has not done much due me not having any permission, we have spent alot of are time mooching without much luck. He has not been around ferrets before but he is a steady dog and listens to commands he did okay, showed some intrest in them but more so later in the day when he had worked out ferret goes in, rabbit comes out His first rabbit he ran, he was all over the place started off behind it then came along side it then over took it I think after that the penny dropped alot keener,mor
  11. Mine was not from working lines but works and runs hedges well, very clever steady little dogs.
  12. Hi John go on the working whippet forum they should be able to give you any advice and questions you might have about working whippets also let you know if there are any litters about at the present or future litters planned. Hope you enjoy your Whippet mate great little dogs.
  13. Pure Whippet 21inchs around 30lbs and a Border for bushing not long had the permission, small fields lots of hedges and bramble this double act just but seems to work for me.

  15. Try crate training mate it should'nt soil its own bed area if you dont leave it in it for long periods, take it outside often after sleep play meals ect and stay with it till it does the bizz, As jt said its only young give it time

As the question states how many lads have insurance to carry out pest control on there permission, Im just starting out, do I need cover? how many lads are with the country alliance or are there others , am I more likely to get more permission with having insurance what are peoples thoughts. cheers

  20. Go for a Kc bred whippet, theres lots of top bred racing/coursing dogs that also are worked. 21 inchs, 32lbs also have a look at the working whippet forum they have a list of stud dogs also k9 community.
