  1. but surely the anti's argue that shooting is preferential to actually hunting foxes as a matter of control? For now Y.I.S Leeview Yes, but I think seeing graphic images of shot foxes will inspire them to go for a ban on shooting as well as, not instead of, the hunting with dogs ban...
  2. I tend to agree with Luke... Graphic descriptions and images tend to give the impression that certain people are relishing in the gory death of an animal, rather than focussing on the skill of hunting, and will only serve to add fuel to the anti's fire.
  3. An Impala eating an apple in Djibouti
  4. You're doing ok I love the pic of the dead tree.
  5. Lovely duck shots, and a well deserved win, congrats!
  6. Nice shots They look like raggedy old leaves when they close their wings...
  7. It was too dark and either the camera wasn't able to focus properly, or the shutter speed was too slow and blurred the pic. It looks out of focus to me... is it a phone pic? But the same rules apply - in order to record a decent image enough light must hit the sensor. If you want to take photos in gloomy conditions you either need a decent flash or some other means of illuminating the subject, or you need to use a long exposure and keep the camera very still, resting it on a firm surface or tripod.
  8. Nice pics Magwitch That black shire horse is an impressive beast!
  9. Golden Earring - Yes, We're on Fire... Edit: Or not...

  11. Super action shots of the swans Kay You've really got the hang of the DSLR now!
  12. Sean has hit the nail on the head... Minimum requirements are a DSLR body and the cheapest lens (probably in the 70-200 or 70-300 zoom range) that you can get your hands on. Expect to spend upwards of £500 for the cheapest set-up. But never fear, whatever camera body you get, unless it's something like five grands worth of Canon or Nikon, will be outdated within a few months of you purchasing it! Good lenses are worth the money though
  13. Yes, you guessed right - not enough light, and the pics are blurred because of camera shake. You can check your camera settings on the file info and from there work out if you could have done it better. To have a better chance set your camera's ISO to a higher setting, try iso 400 to start with, maybe try 800, or however high the camera will go. Don't know how the Olympus will perform at high ISO though - you may find the pics have a lot of noise. A lot of cameras will also tend to over-expose slightly in low light conditions and when you're using high iso setting. They will do thei

  18. Cracking shots, I'd like to see the others if these were the "ones that got away" !!! I love the portraits
  19. Your moon pic is nice Ghillies Yes, high ISO best avoided, and not necessary for moon shots. If your camera has spot metering use that mode and meter on the moon, not the dark sky. If you want to include a bit of scenery in your shot but keep detail in the moon, you will need to use a long exposure for the dark land, then combine it with another shot, taken to expose for the moon. Tricky, but worth it
