  1. Not sure what it is... Looks like a skinny little hoverfly to me, but could be either. You got some nice photos there Alan, pity you hadn't got the flash diffuser ready though it would have been good for these shots
  2. Lovely shot They are nice little birds, never see them here though
  3. One of the kittens. You shouldn't flash insects too much, specially bees. It can damage their eyes. If you vist a marine centre or aquarium never ever flash a seahorse.
  4. Poor kid... However, I disagree that collies cannot be good pets. I grew up with working dogs, and part of their job was to look after us kids. Okay, they were a bit sharp with strangers, but we were brought up to respect the dogs and not maul them around. The dogs I have now do not work anymore - they came from a working and trialling background, and have worked sheep a few years back, but now they are really just pets. They are fairly even tempered, and the bitch was a Pets As Therapy dog when she was younger, but I still would never trust them with a little kid. But then I wouldn't
  5. Almost a Crossbills beak. I'm surprised he can feed very well like that Do you know if he survived the winter?
  6. How big was it? As moths go, it's pretty unexciting, but I'm sure Pixel would enjoy it
  7. Nice pics Kay, I like the first one of the dog
  8. I think the purple one is an Amethyst Deceiver, but couldn't be sure... It seems to be a good year for hops - loads round here so get brewing! Lots of sloes this year too... bring on the gin
  9. and just like some of the blokes on here...
  10. The pics seem to come and go I saw them briefly, and a very fine collection of hairy shetlands they are too I still think you ought to count 'em though DIGZY, just so you know like...
  11. Shoulda gone with your first instinct Erm....
  12. It is a very tragic story and I feel really sorry for the couple... Having to pay to get home is really rubbing salt in the wound. I'd imagine it's certainly not impossible for a tallish lady wearing high heels to topple over a low wall, but does it really matter how the accident happened? Like a lot of other people, they assumed that the EU medical card covered them, an easy mistake to make when presented with a last-minute honeymoon when you have a lot of other things on your mind. I wonder how the poor girl's friends and family, who bought the holiday for them as a surprise, are fe
  13. Well at least you had a little bit of sunshine Beautiful views...
  14. The blue eyes really stand out, and his moustache is cute too. I like the last shot - it looks a bit bleak up there and it's nice to see the horses tucking into their grub
  15. Oh yes... excellent shots Love them all (except the first two... they are technically good, but I hate spiders! )
  16. If you're sure it's a wasp sting and not a bee, bathing it with a little mild solution of vinegar or lemon juice may help soothe it a bit (bicarb if it's a bee sting. Keep an eye on her for any severe allergic reactions. Be careful what anti-allergy pills you give her too... Some of the human drugs contain things which are harmful to dogs. The plain Benadryl (just Diphenhydramine) tablets (not the liquid) should be okay, if in doubt, ask your vet.
  17. Can't see the pics You think there are 70??? Don't you know how many ponies you have?
  18. Tis a good shot in spite of the blurriness which actually serves to give it a sense of speed and purpose. But I don't think he'd be much use on the council estate unless the cats were already dead...
  19. Oooo la la! Belles photos. J'aime numéro deux et sept.
  20. Excellent link, many thanks for posting it Some awesome pics there!
