  1. Tell me about it Moll the final Insult came the other day when my lad called me a Fat Gimp behind my back . its Detox time now up the pub .... Jasper
  2. Nice one Mouse it sounds like what the Lady said in the store was true! I ended up keeping the Large but could really have done with the next size up.... ATB Jasper
  3. Does anyone know anywhere or anyone who makes the leather Ferret Collars? I read on some other posts to replace the MK3 webbing collars with leather one's? Jasper
  4. still useing my handbag I'm afraid . I have had a couple of new Vests passed onto as P/X's for birds and they was smart but I'm lost without my old bag , the last Vest which was untouched went to "Stork" on the forum. I naturaly pick up my bag when taking a bird out from Habit, it has all the blood stains and chick stains on it from way back and my missus says it stinks which is fine cause I stink too..... Jasper
  5. Hello Tis TM I wouldn't worry about Ultrapet tips on something like a Buzzard as these tips only have a 1ml bore ideal for crop tubeing day olds or other downies. for something like a Buzzard I just use a large Syringe like the one in the picture with a four inch peice of fish tank pump tube! and if under weight like the bird you mention I would crop Tube around 15 - 20ml of boiled cooled water with a mix of Critical Care Formula by Vetark or some Glucose. if its grosely under weight get it up the Vets but if it starts to respond on fluids I would then liquidise some quail breast with some
  6. To be Honest fluid therapy helps no end with sick or injured birds! crop tubing them with some cooled Boiled water or some Critical care formular or electrolites normally help, the mouth gaping and the bird may well be just a reaction to being stressed. First thing I would check is its keel? check for bone breaks around the bird? if its poisen then it could spell curtains but hopefully not, I have had chicks pull through from being on deaths door by crop tubeing them with critical care useing a Ultrapet tip for AI. stressed birds can look sicker than they really are! they tend to just
  7. I have a 02 Navara which averages in town if the missus drives it about 28 -29 MPG, on a run and not booting it I'll get 32 all day and perhaps near to 34mpg. Great truck and no problems with mine as yet, I have had it for 2 years and its been fine.... ATB Jasper
  8. I had a finnish male called "Blitz" a while back.....

  10. Just seen this for sale on the forum which sounds pretty good for the price.... http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...showtopic=38779
  11. Thats clever stuff! very good mate ....
  12. Old Nobber is now spending alot less time in holes now WAG! He tends to get a little over excited with age and soon rolls over a goes to sleep after a quick session in a bushy hole...lol

  13. There's some cracking shots on there Kev! you're one clever guy . no doubt about it the Glamor section takes some beating , if you ever need a hand give us a shout .... ATB Jasper
  14. Many thanks for that info Hob&Jill ... I'm such a Numpty mate I rang Molly up earlier and Millet filled told me I had put the batteries in the wrong round! and yep I had ... I'll get some practice in with what you mention above. You're right about it singing to me for the sake of it! when I gave it a few trials in the garden there was times when it was quiet until I was getting close to the collar! and on other times it started playing tunes away from the area while scanning the ground, the other thing I notice is I have to point it well away from the collar nearly Horizontaly befo
  15. Thanks for that Information Comanche . I picked mine up today of a good gennuine lad off the forum and it works perfect but I think its going to take me a bit of getting used to. I did a few tests with it in the Garden and lobbed the collar down one of the terrier holes, I would say when standing above it was a good 6ft deep. what I found confuseing is its blipping away when I'm not over the Collar with all the LED's flashing? why didn't Deben make the system to only activate when pointed in the direction of the transmitter Collar? it does blip faster as it should when pin pointed over the
  16. A mate of mine has used a Scanner and Yagi for years and swears by it, if you look on this Marshall link he did a test caomparing it against the Marshall system!! the test was a bit biased but I know there was nothing to chose between the Marshall and the scanner... Go to this link, click on Falconers Fair May 2004 down the page and click through the pic's from picture 14 onwards Darren Chilton with Garland tagging along did the test.... 17. I didn't realise you was on 216 mate! to be honest though Millet I wouldn't worry until the shit hits the fan if it ever does! at the moment its hear say and may never happen. its no different that a few years back when they said Hybrids would be banned in a couple of years? its could well happen but I won't be worrieing until it does .... Jasper
  18. Its lucky I wasn't taken in by all the hype in the 90's mate when alot of people was buying 216Mhz! the Falconer who adviced me back then proved correct. I got my MN10 on 173 and still use the same receiver with a couple of new transmitters, the reciver has had a couple of Mods added to it but apart from that its basically the same! the Pre-Amp definitley helps should I need the added Range but so far never have....
  19. I think you can trim the Receiver Box in to the desired frequency! the only problem is you will then need to get the correct length aerial antenna for the transmitter and also the correct length Yaggi. I had the lid off mine a while back and on the circuit board is a set of plastic trim screws! I should say by playing about with these and a oscila scope you can trim them in to different frequencies....
  20. Just found a little information about the the good and bad points of frequencies.... &Itemid=122&limit=1&limitstart=1'>http://www.yarakweb.com/index.php?option=c...mp;limitstart=1
  21. if you give Louie on this website a bell in the states it will be alot cheaper to order than in the UK! This company has been building telemetry from way before other systems hit the market! they've been tried and tested over and over again in the field and reliable with a capital R! I have used one for years without missing a beat and has saved me time and time again when a bird has gone AWOL .... http://www.radiotracking.com/index.html
  22. 216mhz is the illegal frequency and used in the past by alot of falconers due to its shorter antenna and shorter yaggi. the 173.200mhz frequency is legal and one of the most popular, it has a longer antenna and longer Yaggi but the rule of thumb is the lower the MHZ the further the field of coverage, the 173 is well known to have greater distance than the 216 although as I said earler the 216 has the advantage of being shorter. I have used a 173 system for many years without a problem with the length of aerial even when mounted on Spars! its personal choice but you have to remember that th
  23. Hello mate You'll certainly get hold of a decent earley 4 x 4 for that money. probaly 1990's models but not many registered from 2000 onwards unless they done a good few miles or Cat D or whatever.... A pickup is a handy bit of kit but won't do the seriouse off road stuff like a Landy! having said that my Navara gets me where I want to go with plenty of room in the back for all my bits and peices, I can stick the dogs in the back, hawk box and plenty of other gear and still have plenty of space and still keep the cab clean, depending on what you're looking for I would go for a pickup
  24. Amen! its not good mate as in the eyes of the law it has exceeded all legal requiements. The shop will want to retain their licence to sell firearms and will deny the gun left the shop rated as FAC. The police will take a look into the whole case incudeing any previouse you might have if any! they don't like waisting time without a result and will feel this one is in the bag, you've got to fight your corner though mate with a legal representive! The best of luck with it and I hope the outcome is in your favour but its a hard one to call....
  25. Nobber is one incredible Bush basher WAG! he's seen alot of different Bushes in his time and stood upto the task in style. He's getting abit old now though mate and not quite the Ferret he used to be....
