  1. Is anyone planning on taking up a new birds this season or sticking with the birds they already have . whatever your plans! what will you be flying? ATB Jasper
  2. This is getting pretty sour now! By no accounts should anyone feel they have to donate, its a free forum and donations are optional. This topic is putting all sorts of strain on members to cough up leaving alot of members feeling they have no option but to resign! from a personal point of view I would be pretty hurt to lose some of the long term members like Tom! I consider these people to be friends and although may never have met some of these people I can certainly associate with them through their posts, it's a sad day when the Forum keeps loseing people like this.... 3. Nice one mate , they're a cracking peice of kit.... Jasper
  4. Hello Terry All the birds in the pictures are P/R! I hood everything I take up, the Imprints I have here are for breeding but I can't bring myself to fly a Imprint as I much prefer P/R birds! I know alot of the so called 20th century Facloners prefer Imprints but I'm old school and enjoy the old techniques of taking up a P/R bird, Hooding it, Manning is and obviousley getting out trainning and finally hunting quarry with it .... I advertised a 3 years old finn male on here before xmas for Andy Reeve! it was a P/R Gary Almeida finn male which is now finally going this weekend, another l
  5. Nice one Mate . if there is one Goshawker I would want to have a bird its you! I'll let you know the first decent lump of a female that comes out ... ATB Jasper
  6. Hello MT You are right mate and I must admit I felt exactly the same! I did a bit of browsing on some other 4 x 4 forums and found alot of other Manufacturers motors also suffering some nightmares, I finally just resingned myself to "what will be will be", it could be a expensive way of looking at it nut I have heard a few covering well into to their 150,000's without causeing any problems! I'm just hopeing mine is one of them .... ATB Jasper
  7. Very good! Looks like a spot of Text talk to me ....

  10. Well that story don't apply to mine as yet! if it does then I'll change my tune but I can't see it somehow happening. its funny cause I have read all sorts of stories about Gear problems on the Old Discovery's and Freelanders yet I know of a couple of people who has them with no probs what so ever, there's always going to be stories about all makes of Motors either for or against! its the luck of the draw mate and also how they're driven .....
  11. Nice one Arnie ! you'll see a few females round WAG's by the end of the year...... Jasper

Thats true Chris but posting by the gennuine members isn't the problem weather its private or not. its just the Minority of new posters that seem hell bent on f*****g it up for the rest. they're not even like minded Hunting folk so why the f**k they're on here kills me, the way I read into it mate is that locking the forum would help keep out the none Hunting Nobs, chat line Numpties and Gobshites to make life a bit easier for the Mods and everyone else? I'm probably wrong but thats how I read into it ..... Jasper
  14. Cracking post FishFish! I fancy a crack at that soometime .... Jasper

  19. I know what you're saying mate! mind you them pink one's look nice , cheers all for the replies and help . is there anyone on the forum who knocks them up? I'm tempted myself to be honest as I have plenty of decent leather here I use for the birds and some nice small buckles and brass press studs, its just getting the time and having the patience! something I seem to lack these days .... I know what you're saying Deker and I agree! its good that the specialiist forums are locked cause why should people be able to view topics and pick up top imformation without being a member and socialiseing with other people from the Hunting faternity. The other thing is if the General forum <which basicaly means any posts can apply to this section> is open for all to see, then I think alot of none Hunting people are getting the wrong end of the stick! they're view this section where 99% of posts are none Hunting related and think "Yep I'll join this site" and they use it like a cha

Private makes it impossible to view any boards without logging in or becoming a member, all boards will be locked to anyone unless they're members either paying on none paying... Open is pretty much how it is now! some forums are locked and can't be viewed by guests but there are some like the General forum and a few others which can be by any tom dick or harry on the net... Personaly I would like it private! I know we have nothing to hide but why should any other nob be able to read some of the boards without being a member, having said that most of the main boards are closed.....
  22. Just a few pictures to wet the appertites of lads flying Finn males this year! these are decent size finn males bred in the last few years, all the birds in the pictures have topped the 2lb mark at 10 weeks or just a tad less but fill out a few more ounces too.... The top one is a mate with his taking game birds at 1lb 13 and the second from bottom was me in around 94 with a Finn male bred by Bob Haddon which was a real lump, this bird averaged the size of a german female Good Hawking Jasper
  23. it makes sense what you saying mate! I'm also thinking its warm enough not to worry about wearing anything to thick underneath or on top, I was shocked the other day when it was pretty cold outside and I wore the fleece just with a short sleeved shirt underneath and it was plenty warm enough. it also helps having several layers of fat round my mid drift ... Jasper
  24. I think you lads need to take the Lead wellies off the peddle , another guy on the site Millet is also averageing a decent miles per gallon but then again we both drive like old Phogies ... ATB Jasper
  25. I know what you're saying Snelly! if my missus drives it she drives it harder through the gears than I do and the fuel gauge moves faster than the speedo , But I drive like a Fart in a Thunderstorm these days and seldom go much over 2000 RPM through the gears. I tried to work it out last night as the Motor managed 137 Miles on £20! the wife reckons it about £4. a gallon now? but I'm still too thick to work it out ..... ATB Jasper
