  1. Does anyone here eat crows/rooks? Seems a shame to have so many around and not using them. Can anyone give an indication of what they taste like?? Would you soak the meat in salted water overnight? I've heard people doing this with rabbits (tho I never have), to take any bad or bitter taste away. Info please! Cheers!
  2. People should get on to the papers more, tell your local paper about these kinds of things. Its ridiculous like, its only the obnoxious people with their stories like you tell of who ever get on to the papers. Like a old b*tch in my estate, after she moved out, she went to the papers saying how she had been "terrorised" by the kids in the estate. And of course her story was printed, without even questioning it. She claimed her gate had been "set on fire". A couple of 7 year olds were messing with matches outside her gat. Not even a mark on it. She was absolutely paranoid. We wrote in a very
  3. I would tell the owners and ask them to pay the vet bills. Bloody ridiculous that. Just typical, terriers and small dogs are allowed do what they like, but if that was a rottie or GSD the cops would be knocking on the door straight away. Bloody sick of my dogs getting attacked by other dogs, and me getting hassle for my perfectly behaved Doberman. The dog should no way have been able to reach past its boundary to attack your dog. That could be classed as a dangerous dog. It would be if it was a Rottweiler who did it. Like I said tho, I would ask the owners to pay the bill first (or h
  4. My cousin knew someone who had a 'pet' fox years ago. Was tied up in the back garden and had a really strong fox smell. No life for a wild animal (or any animal at that). True, but foxes are not pack animals which is one of the reasons they were never domesticated and used. The reason dogs were bred for thousands of years is because of the amazingly strong pack structure within wolf and dog packs. Cats, well you can tell straight off by looking at them that they are not pack animals. A cat is an arrogant git who dosn't give a crap about pleasing you, leader or not! Can't be tr
  5. Cant stand Peter Kay, he's so thick, and all his jokes are so obvious... Jimmy Carr also annoys the fcuk outta me, little weirdo! lol I love Jonathan Ross, Steve Coogan (I know he's not stand up, but still smart funny), Stevern Fry, Billy Connoly, David McSavage (f****n hilarious), Dawn French, Dez Bishop (some hilarious obserant stuff), Graham Norton is good craic, and of course....Pat Shortt!!! Americans - Bill Hicks and George Carlin are funny in moderation....etc!
  6. Heres a handy few pages to print off. - http://www.state.tn.us/twra/pdfs/tanninghides.pdf Can't seem to fcukin get borax over here anymore!
  7. And decided to go up this way by the traintracks because I remember being in a barn up there where there was a load of pigeons. Anyway, couldn't find the barn, it must have been knoocked down or something. But walking along beside the train tracks and this lurcher comes out of nowhere, looks at me, and a rabbit runs up into the bushes. I thought someone was with the dog, but then he starts limping down the tracks away from me. I called him, he kept limping away. I ran after him in the hope of catching him, because he was going quite slow. Next thing, he turns down into the ditch (the traintrac
  8. Chap...help me out here....you may not know a lot..... BUT A fella in the hunting shop said its either 22 or 17. (or 177?) , anyone in a "Hunting shop" should be able to tell the difference EASILY...and did they not sell pellets so you could try some.......if all else fails get a tape measure out! If its OLD the odds are it's .177 or .22, .20 is newer and .25 little used...if it isn't .22 then you don't have many options left! Frankly, forget this Hunting Shop and find someone with some brains!! I didn't bring it in to him, he said I have to have the license to bring it in t
  9. Sorry don't have any pictures, its at my nannys, and I cant find any on the internet. Its really old though.
  10. I know very little about guns, but I need some help - My nanny has this really old air rifle (or some kind of pellet gun). It was my uncles when he was a child, so its probably pre 1960-1965. Its a Diana, I know that much. Problem is, I'm not sure what pellet size it takes. We tried pellets in it, but they were too big. A fella in the hunting shop said its either 22 or 17. (or 177?) I'm guessing it takes 177 pellets if the ones we tried were too big...(they're the smaller ones right?) Any help would be appreciated.
  11. 1.40 for a pint, fcukin hell, they charge 4.50 upwards over here..!
  12. I'd say a cross would be possible. They are both pigeons. No reason why they couldn't. Like someone said you can cross loads of different birds. You can cross a lion with a tiger, and a horse with a donkey, a woodpigeon with a domestic/feral pigeon, no problem I'd say. They would have to be captive obviously though.
  13. 40 quid a week, bloody hell... I'm hopin its not gonna be full of fcuking chavs anyway!
  14. Certainly wasn't! Well done. You'd be lucky to get that in a month around here.... Hope you appreciate it!
  15. ?? Yeah, well anyway, I don't see how they can be any different to greys if they are only a sub species with a colour mutation. That article dosn't actually state what they are it just says they are threatening greys and reds, as if they are another species. But other places it says they are just a 'subgroup', which, I'm not sure the exact meaning, but it sounds even less far away from they grey than 'subspecies' does. So yeah, I guess they're just black greys. ADD: yeah, that makes sense comanche
  16. Apparantly they are threatening both greys and reds.... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-56...e-medicine.html They are a sub species of greys or something....
  17. Just looked it up, it seems they are actually greys.
  18. That looks like a black mutation of a red squirrel. Look into that, you don't want to be killing any reds.
  19. Don't care to be honest, I'm a very capable dog trainer anyway, I'm only doing it to get the degree because it just looks really good. Like who are people gonna go to, the 'dog obedience trainer' or the 'dog trainer with a BSc (Hons) degree in animal behaviour and training'? Haha. With the degree I also might be able to do some work in a place like Longleat training parrots or something, because I love birds aswell. iamduvern, 10pm!? Lol I don't even get to bed at that time on me best night! Don't worry though, I gave up most of the heavy drinking and drug doing last year or the year
  20. digdigger, LMAO! Sounds like mad craic!! Thats cool about the rabbits, I was hoping there'd be good hunting around cos there sures hell aint any here, lol. Gonna get really accurate with my catapult before I go! I'm doing the animal behaviour and training course.
  21. Does he want to do it? If he does then fire away (excuse the pun, lol), but if he's nervous about it or dosn't want to kill anything, then I wouldn't make him. I didn't like any animal dying when I was younger, and if he is going to be a hunter, he will develop in his own time. I think the main thing you must do is teach him to have respect for the land and everything on it. Good luck!
