  1. Yeah I use YA a lot, there are a lot of gobshites on there (they're mostly American), but there are a few genuine good dog trainers. A few proper schutzhund and protection dog trainers, they know their stuff. But with mostly Americans using the site, what do you expect.... lol
  2. Wow, great news!!!! So pleased for you!!!! That seldom happens!! But was this Travellers or Gypsies? There seems to be an unholy amount of confusion on here between the two!
  3. A meat mincer? Jesus are they that expensive?! Thats mad out! (Ask Pink Floyd for one...) Seriously tho, don't suppose theres any way you could make one..?
  4. Nothing could have me laughing more than what I did tonite, drinkin and recounting primary school memories and bullying with friends....funny ouvih! But oh my God, is that video real? That is so terrible!! Fcukin funny though!
  5. Not me. Some dogs will never be sound, some dogs are just born unsteady. Some were made that way by idiots. But that dosn't mean they cant live great lives in non-working homes, with people who know what they're doing. For police work or schutzhund for example, you have to have a 100% rock steady dog. Can't take chances with unsound dogs, no matter how much work and training goes into them. (UK and Irish police dogs are a terrible example. They get the cheap dogs from problem homes, those dogs will crack under pressure as most are from show/pet lines and not made for working. The US polic
  6. Why do these discussions always descend into this kind of name calling? Just because someone is into understanding canine behaviour, or might work with a problem dog rather than get rid, doesn't make them a 'tree hugger', whatever that means anyway. If a dog bit my kid I would probably kill it, but with a heavy heart. And then I'd spend a lot of time trying to understand how I'd f****d up so badly that I'd managed to raise a dog that bit the children in my household. It's about having a bit of respect for the dog and taking a bit of responsibility for the consequences of my actions. Now please
  7. i agree with you mate if a dog bit my child i would get rid responsibly seems there are alot of tree hugger types on here Seems there are a lot of inbred knacker types on here. what exactly do you mean by that Hahaha!

  9. Irony? No not really. There's a difference between a typo and and a genuine inability to spell words. I have to ask....... Did you edit your post due to a typo? Of course!

  11. German shepherds are included in Breed Specific Legislation? Since when? In Ireland they very much are, and some parts of the US. Theres no denying anyway that they are one of the major media targets and breeds subjected to junk yard guarding. They have a reputation, very unfortunately.
  12. ive had dogs all my life and my father and his father..and hunting has been in my family for many years 60+ always had terriers/lurchers hounds around the house, garden and never had really any problems, and if a dog growells at a child "yes there must be a prob"and if i coulnt find out what the prob was then im sorry but its gone. Thank you for illustrating exactly what I said before! People assume just because they have been around dogs for years that they know about dogs. The big thick stubborn man outlook. Its disgusting. Its an insult to everyone who has bothered to study dogs.
  13. Obey? Not necessarily. Respect? Yes. Pack structure and training are two different things. Now theres absolutely nothing wrong with keeping kennelled dogs as long as they are properly socialised, excersised and stimulated. But I know the kind of situations you're talking about.
  14. Oh my god..... You can tell all that from her picture can you? Lol, bring out the "she's an anti!!!" defence when you can't think of anything else. Similar to the "thats racism!" thing.... Lol, you think you're a serious dog person? Love to see you train a working line male Doberman for Schutzhund..! On second thoughts, no I wouldn't, you'd probably end up shooting it!
  15. Ha yeah. "Don't have a clue how to train/handle a dog, and I'm not bothered to learn so I'll blame the dog and shoot it instead". Gobshites. Its exactly that attitude that gives working dog owners a bad name. beilive me mate dogs are hardly ever actually shot for bieng crap workers and aggression can be sorted but if youve got a situation like i have a german shepherd that is aggresive with five kids in the house something has to be done . . . Why if it was a GSD? Single out the BSL breeds why don't you.... Well mate, yes I agree, something definitely has to be done in that s

  17. If my child got growled at/bitten, it would be my fault for not showing it its proper place in the pack, and for allowing it to happen. Warning signs come for months before these incidents happen, most people are oblivious to them however. I would never put my child or my dog in a situation where my child would be bitten. Se I'm a proper dog trainer, I know my stuff.... Retard...
  18. You might try various ski resorts in the off season. A lot cheaper because its off peak, and still very beautiful. They have rafting, mountains/hills, hiking, etc. Good luck
  19. Well said treefella. Milo, are your dogs really worth that much to you? You'd rather get rid of them if they growled, (which is your fault in the first place) than simply not leave them with your kids unsupervised? Shit bred out of? Anyone that has a hard time getting even a bad a lurcher to work is a very poor trainer in my opinion... They must be the easiest dog to train for their work, and the most instinctive.
  20. Most commercial foods are bollox. I feed Red Mills (its bollox) as a filler when cash is tight as it is usually, supplemented with healthy scraps, and raw food like meat, veg, eggs, etc. Its not about the % protein etc., its about the quality of ingredients. Gelatine is a protein, but its f*ck all use. Steer clear of "derivitives of", "origin", "by-product", etc. You want to see ingredients that you would eat, like Chicken, (chicken meal is also good), carrots, peas, etc... A good affordable food is Burns (Burns Holistic Organic). It costs around the same, (sometimes a little cheap
  21. Seller contacted back. They will send me more pellets if these ones don't arrive in 3 weeks, which is nice of them, but still wondering about the legality surrounding airgun pellets in the post to Ireland.... Bloody rigmarole!
