  1. No thanks Wolfie, its not me that's looking for one...!
  2. Thank you! Here's another when still young a hen bird over the top of the bank in strong winds.
  3. I like this one you can see the henbird just in fron of him!
  4. Buck on Point to a woodcock and a cock pheasant sat side by side at eight months of age.
  5. You need to find a mentor......how did you manage with your male?
  6. Yes they are regularly taken as quarry with Goldies. Not sure if this is allowed but here goes http://$%^&*&^%$£$%^&*(/showthread.php?t=132255
  7. Like has been said the only thing the lab does is tones it down but then your not getting the full package. My mate has a GSP x Lab and its not a GSP and its not a lab, personally I thinks its lacking compared to a pure German pointer! He was very excited when it pointed a pheasant but I think its only ever pointed two or three and its probably three or four years of age now. I would just get a GWP you definitely won't be disappointed, their drive and stamina has to be seen to be believed.
  8. Mine works as a hawking dog,but they are the most versatile of hpr's being able to turn their hand to a multitude of tasks. They really don't need anything else crossed into them, I can't see how a lab will add anything that's not already there.
  9. Hi, I have a pure GWP dog. They have a real natural abilty to keep intouch with you and naturally widen their beat on more open ground and tone it in on more enclosed country.
  10. Thought he stopped? He's making them again but he just told me he's no longer a member on here. Look him up on FB KCB Leather. Excellent quality gear in bridle leather.
  11. Kev does I think his username is Gaffer on here. His collars are top quality and very reasonably priced.

Looks like you two have been having some fun. Slipped out after work, another two in the bag. One from the pointer the other from the ferret.

    New Season

They most certainly are switched on. Last season I was on a bank above the bury hawk on fist ferret in, my mate was on opposite bank looking towards me, he nodded that rabbit was peering out of the hole. I was stock still. I didn't realise that the ferret was holding the rabbit. All of a sudden there was an explosion as the rabbit with ferret attached rocketed into the air spinning over and over, she went , I let her go she seemed to stall in slow motion the rabbit and ferret parted about ten foot in the air due the steep bank. The ferret went left handed and the rabbit to the right as he hit

Yes some Harris's just don't like dogs full stop, some will work with YOUR dog only, and some seem fine with any dogs. Mine is very good with dogs and the ferrets she accepted them all in no time at all and has never looked sideways at a ferret.

    New Season

Yeah mine is a lump of a dog but he's fast and will run all day everyday if you want him too. I don't let him chase anything if I can help it he has pegged the occasional rabbit. He marks burys well and will hunt and point all day long, he covers the ground well and knows where to look for game. The hawk will follow him better than me lol, she knows exactly when he has found some scent and will rush to get over him. Its great to watch them work as a team just spectating and watching it all gel together.

Yes he's from Austrian bloodlines and they are a lot heavier built than the German lines. His stamina is endless. Another three in the bag today..!

    New Season

Cheers! I should think she'll soon pick it up as she goes along. They are a very versatile breed and seem to naturally widen the beat when on open land and tighten it back up when on in country. I'm sure that you'll have a lot of fun with her once she tunes in to what you are doing. Its amazing how versatile they are and have a great character. A few pics of mine from last season.

She'll soon get into the swing of things again. How's the young pointer coming on? Hope you lads didn't mind me posting on your thread, with the title wasn't sure if you wanted people to post their exploits or if it was just for your own.

Let mine off on Sunday she was off following the pointer was only out 20 minutes or so. The dog found she chased off up the hill wing over into bracken, bang! First chase of the season a rabbit in the bag. Reward and home. Didn't fly her Monday. Got home from work weighed her loaded up dog, bird and young ferret. Out onto hill again. Pointer marked ground bury young jill entered, showed a few times I thought wish I'd brought her mother instead. Dropped her back in then after a short wait a big buck rabbit exploded down the hill a nice long flight and a dramatic mid air bind, then a so
  24. Looks great there Greyman any chance of explaining the tube method again and where do you get the tubing from?? Also if you hear of anywhere I can get the latex from outside the US let me know..!Once you have tried TTF you won't go back to anything else. sorry it's been a while, but here are a couple of pics how I fit my pouches using tube, it's 4mm latex tubing I get on eBay from China, it's really good stuff, cut a little bit off, push onto long nose pliers, wedge a bit of wood in the handle to open the tube, then just push your flats through the tube through the pouch then back out through
  25. My mate has just got a refund from paypal due to him not sending the goods, and he was told twice that they were in the post. Complete lies apparently.
