I can't say that I follow this to be fair, my GWP's hunt faster than my lurcher until the lurcher is running it's quarry. Then obviously the lurcher is faster!
There are lots of breeds of HPR's and they are all very different, they were all derived from different breeds/types. How is your current GWP cross? Has it had any funny turns regarding it's heart?
My GSP wasn't anywhere near as fast at covering the ground as one of my Wire's. Also in my opinion the GWP'S are more of an alrounder and seem to take to many tasks. I don't hear of many people using the GSP's for anything other than a gun dog.
Not sure what you mean by sharp but I've had both and the wires are a lot harder going and better alround vermin dogs. The Danish lines are heavier than the German bloodlines. I like that as they are more robust and have more stamina.
I've known lurchers of various types collie crosses, deerhound and bull crosses blow up and die. It could happen to and type, it doesn't mean that type is prone to it. I believe you have a few gwp crosses have they done it too?
Absolute rubbish I've known a lot of GWP's and crosses and not heard of any having these problems. If you have seen the drive and stamina these dogs possess you'd know that with heart problems they wouldn't last very long.
I like redtails flown lots of them. My mate has a male HH x Goldie its a nice bird but its been hard work. I may get one but most I've seen have imprint traits, the breeders are all about the money these days and like to pull them to get another clutch hence most get imprinted in some way or another. A true pr one would be awesome.
