Out today slipped her on some gulls, she lost her gull and switched to a crow. Good for her to have a reward though.

Try to contact a club if you can't find anyone thats near you. A lot of these centres are a waste of time, they will be happy to take your money and most aren't qualified to teach you anything about falconry. Falconry is hunting with a trained bird of prey. Try to get yourself in touch with someone that keeps their birds for hunting and get out with them, you will learn a lot more. Bird of prey centres are far removed from true falconry. Maybe someone on one of the FB pages that you mention once they can see that you are keen to learn I'm sure that someone will take you under their wing. Good

Couldn't have put it better myself. If you do your apprenticeship with a redtail you will be set up fly most birds. Whereas if you do it with a Harris you'll only be set up to fly a Harris.

Out today in pursuit of a gull flight and got it.

Went out today had 2 slips, after the second slip I realised that she had dropped her second transmitter. As its just a regular telemetry tag we had a bit of fun locating it. It was certainly a test on my tracking skills so to speak. When we found it I realised that she had dropped a deck feather which isn't so good.

It varies but the first flight was more of a jolly around where she chased a few bits and pieces and had a play about. As you can see that was around 24.5 minutes. The second flight was a hard fast workout nearly 12 minutes of constant exercise. I like to mix it up a bit it keeps it more interesting.

One day several years ago now I was out with a mate flying his young female Harris when she bound to a huge black cat high up in a scots pine tree, they came hurtling down straight towards me I dived out the way and they parted company as they hit the ground about six foot beside me. About half an hour later she was sitting in a tree marking something down in thick bramble, forty feet or so down the banking in front of us. As we were beating the cover she crashed in and bound to something it started bellowing and crashing through the cover and started to bounce off a few nearby trees as it was

Nipped out today nothing much about so a few exercise sessions between the showers, to maintain the fitness.

It could be because I've had them insured for a few years now. They were the only ones that I could find that would insure it on agri at the time. One mate has his with them too, another mate that tried to insure his with them recently had trouble getting it.

I have had quads insured with them for a few years now never had any other insurance with them. A few mates have them covered with them too

They did mine ? Bike sure would only insure mine if it was non agri registered, i,e, it had to have an mot etc

Yes its difficult to keep her going now the clocks have changed and like you said she's earnt a rest, and it leaves me more time to concentrate on other commitments.

Thanks. I'm probably going to feed her up shortly for a few months then bring her back into condition for some spring time pest control.
