  1. Ideal, looks like you had a productive day and a nice confidence builder for both birds. Well done!
  2. Yes it is she was totally at ease when we arrived today with three horses literally all sniffing her, lol.
  3. I know what you mean.....I can't help it if the land that I have permission to fly her on seems to attract the gulls, even though its several miles from the sea. Even when there aren't any there she seems to find one somewhere! She is totally unbothered by any livestock which can be a worry at times. I found her plucking a crow one day underneath a herd of Highland cattle, she was in the middle of about 30 or so.
  4. Another accident and kill 51 in the bag ?
  5. As you can see from the recorded flight she missed her original target and went on a bit of a jolly. That was the highest weight that I have flown her at, she could have done with being an ounce lighter really. at least she had a good exercise.
  6. Thank you. She ended up in the football field at Kelly college lol.
  7. Two good workouts today and another accident, kill 50 in the bag.
  8. Another accident she was slipped on a carrion crow and when I got to her she was tucking in a LBB gull. Oops ?
  9. Trespassing is a civil law and would never end in a conviction. There is also an old law which still stands that you are allowed to enter private land etc to retrieve your hawk. If it has killed a gamebird on a shoot your are to take your hawk but leave the gamebird on the land. I usually ask the owner if I can quickly locate them, if not I just pop in and retrieve her. Believe it or not I have acquired a lot of permission through being caught picking up a hawk or falcon, if you were caught on there with a lurcher or terrier you would no doubt be classed as a deer poacher or a badger digger!
  10. This girl is a nightmare every time I try to excercie her she rakes off and makes a kill.

He should slip from a vehicle he would be able to get a lot closer to the quarry. The pere x AK's are gutsy little things and don't seem to realise their size, or lack of it, lol.

Thanks thats a cracking little long wing. With it being from that mix it should be a gamey little thing, have you seen it on any quarry?
  13. Heavy rain and high winds kill 47 in the bag ?
  14. Dodging the rain today a really good flight and no cigar. Then a straight flight and kill 46 in the bag.
  15. Its just a tethering spike. I use it to secure the quarry to the ground (obviously when it's dead) to stop the bird from carrying it and to attach her swivel and leash to it so that if something startled her she couldn't fly off with it.
  16. Better weather today, a good fly about and kill 45 in the bag ?
  17. Had a bit of a caper in the week where she nailed a game cock, managed to get her off it for another flight. Where I had a track down and found her plucking her crow. Today she had a cracking flight in very high wind and took a gull, kill 44.
  18. BFG's all the way had all terrains and mud terrains they are quiet on road good off road, handle well in the wet and last for years. I had a set on a defender for 60K and when I sold it they were still only about half way worn.
  19. Two nice crow flights today the second one ending with a cigar ?
  20. Had a mate out with a broken leg so he couldn't go far from the truck. It worked out well, a nice slip where the bird had to make up some ground, gained height and picked her target. She then climbed nicely, put some pressure on, and took it in style with a nice high mid air bind right in front of us. I forgot to record the flight on the app. Kill 40 in the bag!
  21. A quick one nice mid air bind kill 39
  22. Like I said this type of hawking is ideal you can drive around in the rain jump out the motor and slip the bird have a flight, job done?
  23. A nice straightforward flight and kill 38 in the bag ?
