Trap on its way to me so we can take a look at quaility etc (thanks mr muddy) but we are trying a high tensile steel wire made in sheffield (my home city) so it should withstand a little harsh weather,also a galvenised high strengh wire and see which will work best. We are going to look at the washer for the trigger ( thanks old trap collector) connected with a fine wire so not to loose it. As for the setting tool that could be work in progress but we have several small tool makers locally that will be able to help. iwm I don't understand the need for a setting tool ... I set all mine -
Had a nice easy job yesterday ferreting some burial mounds ... Nice and open not to many holes per mound so ideal for a training day for a pup ... As I was walking around taking a look at the place and I noticed lotty wasn't around so I gave a her a short whistle and in the distance I could hear a high pitch squeaking getting closer and closer ... I was chuffed that she had caught herself a young rabbit and was retrieving it nicely ... As she got closer I realised she was bringing me a live squirrel carrying it by its back leg ...after convincing her to put it on the ground and not in my hand

could they not be made from say 3mm high tensilesteel wire? I have use of a machine at a relatives work place that bends tensile steel wire to any size/shape if i could get hold of one of these traps i am sure he could make them here.????Cheers IWM. It would be very interesting to see what price he could produce them for ....... -
The nail is not that bad and doesn't look infected so will grow back pretty quickly ... The nail bed looks infected to me and on top cleaning four times a day may need some ant biotics ........

Exactly what I was saying ...if you can see it coming then sidestep it ... Only a lunatic would walk around tooled up or go looking for a fight ... BUT sometimes with all the best intentions in the world you can't avoid a fight and when it starts you have no idea whether its going to end in one punch or go the distance or turn into a full scale bar fight ... And you have to do what you have to do to come out of it on top ... I am closer to 50 than 40 and very very rarely go out drinking to pubs so hopefully my days of scrapping are long gone .....

The problem is you never know if a fight is going to end up with you having to fight for your life ... There's lots of guys that don't know when to stop and then there's the rock hard fellas that can't wait to get stuck into you when your on the floor ... So what started out as a straight fight can turn into anything which means you have to do anything to survive ... Your best defence to a fight is read the signs see it coming and side step it ... Only a fool or somebody with a screw loose goes out looking for a fight and them people are best kept away from .......

Its nothing to do with how tough you are its simply about having a fight where one man has to win and one man has to lose if you cant fight like that then go do something else......very few street fights dont go to the ground at some point so it dont matter how good you are with your fists........but what gives you the right to win if you dont earn it ? the fact you are willing to do a 10 stretch in the shovel ?......thats nothing to do with fighting......again people tend to get fighting and defending yourself completely twisted. Nothing to do with being a girl or small man syndrome its to do with the survival instinct ... You are a big lump gnash and know how to box so I presume you could end most of your fights with only your fists and in quick fashion ... Most people are not in that position and will scrap with whatever means it takes to win .......
