  1. Could I just take this opportunity to wish all members of this forum a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Kev.
  2. Cheryl Cole. Ferreting/lurcher/shooting permission for the whole of North Yorkshire. Catch the record shore caught cod. A brand new Yamaha RD400E. Somebody to come and paint the outside of my house. Free. And the inside while they're at it. Exemption from speed limits. To be able to play any musical instrument I pick up. Nice teeth. Cheryl Cole again. My Dad to have still been alive when my daughters were born. A boss that actually knew what he was talking about. And Cheryl Cole. Kev.
  3. Be careful where you put that down mate, you might never find it again. Kev
  4. What are the benefits of getting it regulated, how much would it cost, what does it involve and would it be worth it on a gun which is as new? Kev.
  5. Don't know if you can still get them but I remember seeing a snooker game target. I think there was 7 spinners in a row, the largest being red, next largest yellow, etc., down to the smallest which was black, the idea being you hit the red and then go for a colour. Pretty much like snooker really then!

  9. EMPTYshotgun cartridges make good targets and if there's a clay ground near you there's an endless supply. Kev.
  10. Hope I have as much success with it as I had with my springer (HW80). Taken in about 1990. I got told off for shooting the black one. Kev.

    Many thanks

Nice one Kay, lovely looking dog. Stealthy- why not buy one for HER and just borrow it. Kev.
  12. A lot more intelligent than some of the birds I've been out with. Kev.
  13. I've just bought one and I'm well pleased with it. Only £100 too. Kev.
  14. Welcome to the loony bin mate. Kev.
  15. Planted 100 willows 5 years ago, thought I'd been ripped off when they came as they were about as thick as your finger with no root, just a stick really. Planted them in September, just made a hole with a bar and dropped them in about a third of their depth. Nothing happened 'til April when I noticed a few buds appearing. By the following September they were about 8' tall. I planted them in 3 rows and I've just cut the first row down this year when they still had leaves on. I have 3 Pygmy Goats which love the leaves so I just cut a couple down at a time and leave them on the floor for the goat
  16. I use willow almost exclusively in my wood burner at the moment. Also use it on the open fire, plus point is it doesn't spit. Kev.

    snowing

Snowed here in Scarborough yesterday, went 15 miles inland and there was none. Got up this morning and it has snowed quite a lot last night. Took dogs out and it's about 3''-4'' deep but up to 18'' where it's blown in drifts. Quite funny watching my pup crashing through it. Can just imagine the older dogs thinking 'idiot, you'll learn'. Kev.
  18. Red sky at night-shed's on fire. Man who shits on weigh bridge does business on big scale. Kev.
  19. Yeah but do you think the police would notice if you were on your way back home and the dog was walking and the buggy was full of rabbits? Kev.
  20. Got it for £100 in the end. Am well impressed with it. Kev.
  21. Check out 'Pigeon Shooting-Advice Needed' (I think it's on the next page). It's a good idea to keep your skin covered (at the least you should have a hat on) but keeping still is equally important. If there's a library near you why not go see if there's any books on pigeon shooting there? Most of the shooting magazines have pigeon shooting articles in them. It's as well to remember that there is no 'correct' way to do things when pigeon shooting and what works for one person somewhere in the country over one type of crop won't neccessarily work for every situation. Get out there and have a go.
  22. I feed mine layers pellets all year round but they are free ranging as well. They help themselves to windfall apples and other stuff too. Kev. P.S. Don't get many bloody eggs though!
  23. I've just made some rosehip wine-don't know what it'll be like, it didn't smell that good. I've just started some blackberry gin as well. Kev.
