  1. twas white/cream with a black mark on the wing and coverd in guts :sick: ill google it and see if i can find a picture of the kind..it wasnt in the best state but it was still alive anyway
  2. when they start trying/eating meat i would mince it,makes it easier for them to eat and gradualy make the size bigger until there big enough to rip it up themselfs
  3. be intresting to see what its like for ferreting in the states.catch size and terrane etc. all the best anyway..get yourself a good strong spade too,a vital bit of kit
  4. stuck the knife in and cut down the belly,probly cut the stomach n entestines in the process.there was blood n stuff on it but it was still alive,fluttering its wings on the ground.rabbit had only been shot a few hours before hand

  6. was butchering a few rabbits last night and when i cut one open a white butterfly/moth thing flew out ..scared the sh*t out of me to say the least.im still puzzled as to how it got there.rabbits dont eart them do they?
  7. i pluck em n giv em a good look over to make shure there ok first andn let the fezz munch down.no cleaning up to do if you pluck them first,theyl eat it all

  9. down to personal prefrence i reckon.shurley there colour wont affect there working,and with ferret finders spoting them aint realy a problem,.id prefer polecats myself tho just for looks
  10. jst measured my biggest jill.she was 19 inches from nose to tail.she seems a lot bigger than most other jills iv come across.
  11. never measured my ferrets ether but would be intresting to see exact sizes

  13. probably a stupid question but wat do ye do with yer crows??..i only ever realy decoy pigeons and they get eaten..wud it not be bit hard to dispose of all them crows?
  14. i jst make up a frame with branches and saplings,cover it in foleage ivy and leafy branches and the like leaving gaps to shoot thru.id always wear camo gear too tho so you dont stand out thru the gaps.balaclava is esential imo too..not an expert bu thats how i do it nyway n its works pretty well.

  17. youd be surprised how little some vets actualy know about ferrets.i took a new jill i got last year to the vet for a cheackup and he told me she was pregnant,few weeks later she was in season..i then went back to inquire about jill jabs which the vet had neer heard of and when i explained what they were she had the nerve to laugh at me for saying ferret jills cant bring themselfs out of season.i recived a phonecall 2 days later tho with an appology .same vet quoted my 60 euro to casturate a male and told me she wudnt be able to vasectimise my him as there "bits" were too small.think its time

  20. iv gta say it was a success ..out of the 3 people.1 realy liked it and had no problem with the fact it was pigeon and the other 1 didnt get sick so that was a plus haha.but i still dont reakon there guna be ringing me asking for some fresh pigeon just yet. thanks a million for all the advice
  21. as far as i know the red squirrel hibernates properly but the grey squirrels just sleep for long periods at a time geting up to forrage evry now and again..hows that triger plate attached to the door?
  22. thanks for all those .and yes theyv been hung for 2 days n the breasts removed,iv had bita practice there.i mite try the soaking them in milky water tip,never heard that before..i think im going to do the pigeon wraped in bacon on a bed of mixed salad with some balsamic vinigar(small portions of corse).simple and easy ..cant waite to see there reactions after iv told them .thanks again Conor
  23. im cooking dinner for friends of mine this friday and they are repulced by the fact i eat wild animals(espicaly pigeon).so iv decided i'm going to give them a little treat and cook them some woody for starter and not tell them what it is .im just wondering if anyone knows a light enough pigeon dish?cant be too heavy as there will be a main course and starter too. thanks, Conor
