  1. If its that stuff on evil bay then stay well clear . There's nowt wrong with the proper bonded nylon though its a lot stiffer , though it does soften down through use.. These bonded twines are used wildly for the mounting of commercial fishing nets..
  2. I just fillet them and fry them in butter. Though there also good deep fried in a nice seasoned batter accompanied with a Stone of Chips and a Loaf ..

  6. Well I had a wander out last night with the Net as the conditions were good and the time of the tide was also favourable.. So of I went and set out a 55 yard gill net with a Floating Line.. So hear I was sitting back on the shore line enjoying watching the Tide coming in fast and it was not long after the Tide was at a fair height that the Fish started to hit the net , so I was quite chuffed thinking that its "Gonna be a good night" !! How wrong was I .. ... As a pair of Seals thought that they would just help themselves to the Fish that were in the net ... Ah well that's nature for You

  12. Nowt wrong with a zig zag setting as this will put more rabbits in the bag,, same as having a tail at the start and end net.. Its pleasing to see just how many rabbits are accounted for in the tail ends..
  13. I would recommend a nice Braided Nylon Twine with a size of 1mm to 1.3mm , and a mesh board at 3 1/8th" which will give a full mesh at 6 1/4",,, Ring wise then I would recommend 1 1/2" to 2" in size... Regards..

  15. Bob back Pegs the last time I spoke to Him that was his preferred method , that Net was just made for the D.V.D. in 5ply Hemp(flax bouncy !! bouncy ) as Bob was onto Me to see if I could source proper 3ply Genuine Hemp for Him for the up and coming D.V.D. F@k carrying that Load at night ! He would have caught more and revealed better footage of Rabbits being meshed in a good old fashioned 4z net but as far as I'm aware Simon wanted an old smelly Flax Net for the Film ... Regards..

  18. thats the kinda rig i was thinking, i think the braided rope floats better than the twisted stuff the only thing with it is you cant splice it unless you are realy good! was that 5inch 0.35 you were useing or the 5 1/2 inch? P.S if you two get fed up of answering net questions just say lol Think the most popular size was the 5" x 15 md in 0.40 mono though I also rigged plenty in multi 0.5 x 8 which were also 15 md .. I have never tried to splice the Braid as I aint got the Fids,, or the Patience . all I ever done and it works just fine is to melt the ends and form into a point, th

  21. Many years ago I was very busy rigging sole/plaice nets and they were very successful so I was told. The standard Rig was a Braided 6mm head rope with a number 2 lead line , threaded through the bottom meshes. The other style of rig was 8mm head rope with a 1oz Float every Fathom with a number 3 lead line again threaded through the bottom meshes. Regards.
  22. I like it Joe,, as You said it does take time to make them but the end result is far superior than a sheet of netting. I have a few Yards of Nylon Netting hear made By imo the best netmakers in the World! The Nagaura Net Co from Japan.. And going through the Sheets theres a few defects.. Sheet Netting is !! Sheet Netting! Good and Bad,, Its just Your luck Mate.. Regards..
