  1. All of BB's ,all of James Herriots and Of Pedigree Unknown by Phil Drabble.
  2. Yeh, folk see a rough coat and a broad skull and presume there's Border blood in there. Same when it's smooth with a broad skull they say it's got bull blood. Believe it or not some lads know how to breed good strong black terriers with nothing added but love, LOL.
  3. I agree. Personally I'm all for kids and animals together and if one of my own ever got bitten it was usually their fault, not the dogs. Unfortunately when it's someone else's kid who's bitten it's the dog who pays the price. Nor have I a germ phobia. I reckon half the illnesses about nowadays are because we've become too clean and have less resistance to disease etc. but I draw the line with dog arse bacteria and potential Weils disease.
  4. I think the most Cuckoos I heard in a whole Summer was two. We just don't get many in Ireland.
  5. I don't know about you's but it turns my stomach anyway when I see someone kissing a dog or letting a dog lick you and even worse when I see a dog licking someones face. You don't have to be out ratting etc. for a dog to pass germs on to you, after all they all lick their own arses. If dogs and kids are going to mix then the kids need training as much as the dog does as to what right and what's not. I'm not even a fan of the likes of that photo (no disrespect Hjckcff) because no matter how fast you think you are if that terrier snapped it could scar a baby for life before you know it. Kids m
  6. No good if shot. Snaring is the best way to keep a pelt good but when I used to sell a few I had a lurcher bitch that would pin them down by the cheek and she never put a hole in them, nor ever got a hole put in herself either for that matter.
  7. I seen it for a couple of mornings and then one morning it showed him wearing womens make up and I switched it off, couldn't keep it real the arsehole.
  8. Apparently the golfers were English and the green keeper wants a few foxes around to keep the rabbits down. And apparently there's two foxes on the golf course that do this. A left and right, .
  9. I must ask the lads when I see them about it. IMO the way it came back after being chased makes me think it could bite someone. Typically it's probably being fed by golfers and has no fear, then it will bite someone and then the "Please do not feed the foxes" signs will go up. I genuinely never thought I'd see the day in Ireland when there'd be foxes that tame. It's only 20 minutes from my house too.
  10. I used to sell a lot of the stuff and a few years ago I had a visit off two Norwegian dogmen so I thought I'd give them a taste of Irish hospitality. At the time I was well used to Poitin so I got out a bottle and poured 3 large glasses. I took a sip and let out the usual "oh yeh" after a mouthful. One of the Norwegians drank the lot of the head and calmly said "Is nice ya, can I have some more please ?" We drank two bottles and I cant remember much but I do know that the Norwegians walked out of my house in a straight line. The one who drank it off the head even looked like a viking. I coul
  11. They might confuse you boys lol Ha, bloody ha. The reason you boys have two pegs is to double your chance of actually sticking one in the ground .
  12. Two very good friends of mine are caddies on this golf course AND they're shooting men. I'll have to have a serious word with them.
  13. Yep, there's a company from Scandinavia came to Ireland last year and told the Gun Clubs they'd give 25 euro for quality fox pelts and 20 for quality mink. Apparently the Irish pelts are of a superb quality, I'm not sure if they wanted them wet or dry and the company offered to give demonstrations on how to skin correctly. When you think about it, the lads in the 70s were getting £25 for a fox pelt when a man on a building site was getting that for a days wages. The most I ever got was £7 and that was the late 80s. I wouldn't like to see the trade taking off in a big way again personally.
  14. The double peggers must be an English thing, I've never seen them, let alone used them. Must be good though, some good lads seem to prefare them.

  16. Best told with a West country accent................. "Cider on Beer will make ya feel queer, Beer on Cider will make ya wanna ride her."

  18. Yes D, but the whole show was worth looking at.
  19. No, no, haven't seen any yet. Someone on the angling forum says there's Mackerel caught already, which got me thinking about another sign of Summer. Normally around here I see my first Swallow on the 11th of April but because it's been so mild (and them beauties are already on their way) I will predict I'll see one on the 9th. What's your prediction folk ?
  20. Hard to believe, but then again, the weathers been mild. We'll see Swallows in the next two weeks I'd say.
