  1. Yep cant argue with anything youve said.....the only thing i think your slightly overlooking is this...hard work, dedication, sacrifice etc is great, but ANYONE can do that....it doesnt equate to being a great sportsman.....great sportsman are BORN not MADE.......if it was just a case of who worked the hardest or who wanted it most then natural skill and talent could be overcome by hard work and dedication......and as you know, they cant !.....I dont believe any great sportsman become great without some kind of gift they were born with, thats what puts them on a different level......that gift d
  2. Its easily done mate....im not too great with words sometimes so if it came across as arsey it wasnt meant to.....just a natter for me thats all
  3. " basics " would be to assume there is a right or wrong way of doing things.......the reality is everybody has their own opinions and methods concerning dog care and animal husbandry in general.....what is the correct " basics " for 1 man might be wrong for another.
  4. The trouble with dogs being " property " is where do you draw the line.....can i rip my dogs eyes out while burning his bollocks on the gas hob before slitting his throat for my own amusement ....its my property right ? We own dogs but they are not our property.....im not totally against BSL even concerning the breed your probably on about.....some breeds are not for everyone
  5. Obviously everything has its levels, some are acceptable some are not....ive no problem with 2 fellas sorting a problem out with a few right handers....but if they stab or shoot each other thats unacceptable !...the same as puff and class a are opposite extremes. Too much emphasis these days is placed on the poor " victims " of drugs....if people took responsibilty for their own actions and stopped all this " i had a bad upbringing so now im a junkie " nonsense then there would be no place for hard drugs........as long as people are not forced to do something against there will then no i dont
  6. Ive nothing against someone selling a relatively harmless drug no.....if my son or daughter were not raised with enough common sense to say no then id worry more about myself than them...... areshole ? wanker ?.....you sound really really scarey im going to avoid you i dont want to get hurt.
  7. Look for a local buiseness to sponsor the team.....if its a footie team its good advertising for a local buiseness having a name on the shirt in return for buying the kit/balls/training gear etc....what sport and what part of the country you in ? Edited to add....sorry didnt see your flag there.
  8. What a load of ol bollocks most of these replies are.....stone me some of yous must be some real angels !.....we,re talking about a bit of puff here nothing thats going to kill people...ive never been into drugs of any sort but ive nothing against folk making a few bob from them.....nobody is forced to buy drugs its a free country and a decision an individual makes.....so if theres a market for it then whats the problem with a man making money from it..... This fella made a decision and it went tits up.......he was unlucky but thats life.......to go on like he deserves the electric chair is j
  9. Tricky one this, some folk are lucky and some are not ....its the difference between getting caught on one side and doing 5 years or getting caught on the other side and doing 30 years ! As an adult human being you weigh these odds up before you play the game and hope luck falls your way.....i have every sympathy with the fella as he had terribly bad luck, but he made judgement before he played the game and lost.....thats life unfortunately.
  10. Gonetoearth i think your missing my point mate....i have every respect for jockeys and the hard work/dedication it takes....im sure its a very tough and dangerous sport.....but sportsman cant be judged on how tough something is....or dangerous.....was Eddie the eagle a great sportsman ? you wouldnt catch me flying through the air like he did bollocks to that.....was Barry Sheene a great sportsman ? it dont come much more dangerous than that.....every sport has its different skills/risks/dedication. Ive recently taken up golf....compared to the other sports ive competed in this is literally a
  11. Slow down mate, what you getting excited about !....we,re just having a chat about a subject that obviously interests us both, the way a chat works is you make a point then i make a point.....nobody wins or loses so no need to get all competetive and start talking about moving goalposts Yes fans gave him stick thats just the nature of football fans.....but the fact is....apart from possibly Bobby Moore....Beckham is the most popular footballer ever to where an England shirt....am i wrong ?....the point about watching England games is over the tv you obviously dont get the atmosphere within a
  12. Absolutely.....wouldnt call him a great just yet but he,s certainly got what it takes.
  13. Where i grew up sports in school was taken very seriously whether it was football in winter or athletics in summer....we had 2 great sports masters both of who pushed us as hard as possible while keeping a strict sense of discipline and hard work.....the same as most other schools in our area......i dont think its any coincidence that over the years id say more succesful sportsman have come out of this area than virtually anywhere else in the uk. Its a crying shame how its gone now, sport encourages great qualities in the young, you dont need to be athletically gifted or have a future in it...
  14. John Charles,Ian Rush,Ryan Giggs......you dont need to be hating on English players when you,ve had plenty talented greats of your own
  15. But its not a " hard work " contest is it.....I,ll use Ian Botham as an example as he won the award in the ,s also.....Botham was known as quite a lazy player when it came to Cricket....but he had such undoubted talent and skill and achieved so much he was a worthy winner of the award......if it was just a case of who works the hardest then somebody like Steve Redgrave should have won it every year considering his accomplishments. You just cant compare sports achievements based on how much hard work you do to be succesful at it.In his sport Phil Taylor works just as hard as McCoy does in his
  16. So there was a couple of months of a 15 year career where he was hated, big deal....im talking in the last ten years or so....do you go to England games ?....if you did you would know what im saying !...He is cheered the loudest and longest every match,as a sub he gets off the bench and the place comes alive.....and thats not because he has a showbiz wife, most real football fans couldnt give a bollock who a player is married to they are just concerned with what a player does on a football pitch.....and that is why Beckham has been so popular with an England shirt on.
  17. If your brother told you the sky was green with purple spots would you take his word for it or look out the window and check for yourself The fact you have no interest in football sums up your knowledge of the person your talking about !.....Tiger Woods is shit at golf...ive never been to golf but thats my view And yes,as the other chap said.....whos your brother ?....come on dont be shy.
  18. Likewise, wasted talent makes my blood boil....what some of us would have done for a touch more talent ! Lewis seems to have all the talent in the world but from what i see he just doesnt have the temperament, which in itself is not really wasted talent....i guess thats another quality it takes to reach the top that not everyone has. Lewis seems too easy to outwit when under pressure and Taylor is the master of the mind games without doubt. Its strange sometimes how such diverse sports can require almost the exact same qualities.....only different in how they show themself.
  19. Absolutely...whos the toffee nosed prick who breaks the law for a hobby but thinks folk who break the law for money are shitbags !! And whats a misogynist anyway ?
  20. Thats exactly my point....your lad is dedicating himself to his sport,i know all about the dedication it takes to prepare for a fight, make weight etc etc....i dont miss it one bit and i never competed at the highest level of my sport....so thats a dedication you have to make merely to compete....at any level.....you see my point ?....some of us would train and train and train with total dedication,if we didnt possess the natural talent and skill in the first place there is a point we can reach and go no further.......the true greats of sport have immense natural talent meaning that same dedica
  21. I know where your coming from, but the EDL just send out all the wrong messages to the people who are not quite as adamant as you or me....some folk are just starting to realise whats happening and thinking about how things can change....they switch the news on,see a bunch of lads running round shouting and swearing looking like football hooligans and they think again. Why do you think the BNP no longer have marches or demonstrations, they realise the image it gives off......yes the EDL raise awareness but its a double edged sword....and after all said and done if folk are not aware by now they
  22. Agreed.....if a dog fails at what he was bred to do he is a poor specimen of his breed.....if he fails at something else he wasnt even bred for he cant even be judged good or bad. I would imagine a gsd taking its death defending its owner is about as common/rare as a pit dog taking its death doing his thing......but then i think thats maybe what you was saying
  23. Thats because being patriotic is still a minority sport, its seen as prejudiced........but thats today, tomorrow your average everyday joe is going to become the majority and you cant call the majority " prejudiced " As a nation we got ourself in this shit so as a nation we have to get ourself out......if to the average eveyday man that means taking a risk then thats the test of every man as an individual....do you have the bollocks to take a risk or just settle for the easy way out......when you hear the term " its time to stand up and be counted "....thats what it means ! It has to sta
  24. You got to be realistic mate....who is going to be taken seriously,a legitimate official politician in a suit and tie.....or a bunch of mouthy yobs with scarves over their face hiding their identity running round the streets shouting ! The EDL,s heart is in the right place......but if true change is what they want then get in line and back up the official legitimate party who represent what they want.....not try to stamp your feet, mislead people and think its going to make a difference, real difference.
  25. Huntings no different to any other hobby....you will get people seriously into it and others who just have a dabble....you cant dictate how seriously somebody takes a hobby just because someones not out every day in all weathers dont mean they dont have a right to look in on a hunting website....myself i come under the occasional dabble bracket,a couple of chaps near me know a hell of a lot more than me and take it very seriously i just tag along occasionally simply because i find it very interesting....so im certainly no hardcore hunter....but like anything else, theres a time and place to ask
