Oh so you wanna make it a north/south thing then do ya Daft old northern women who call you " me ducky "..........................................stop calling me that !!! Chips with batter on ..............................Its either fish or its chips you cant have it both ways ! Backstreet shops with crappy old wooden fixtures and fittings like youve just walked back into the 1950,s or arrived on the set of Open all Hours !! Notherners who think anyone with a southern accent is a cockney !! Dry Stone Walls ................................either build a proper f****n wall or dont bother,
-
Cheers....wasted talent eh !...............You wanna see me at flower arranging then
-
Funny you should say that......went out and bought one of these little Fluval Specs at the wknd......nice little things. Cant believe how small Betta,s are these days they seem half the size they used to be.

Not much of a challenge mate unless your going up the face Its not a challenge.................................................its a race !........Plain and simple
-
I can see the point of these athletic events high jump, agility or the flirt pole thing where they go over an a frame theres logic in that as it requires a fit dog of sound construction..............but this weight pulling where folk build their dogs up for ages specifically for that......i went to one of those Ed Reid shows ( the first and last time i went ) about 15 years ago a friend of a friend had spent ages getting a dog in shape, good strict feeding and exercise........we got there the dog pulled a cart along 4 or 5 times and that was it we went home again !......It wasnt difficult to see
-
You do all that training for a dog to drag a weight 20 yards ................Each to their own and all that and im sure its a lot of fun.....but these competitions always put me in mind of fat middle aged tattooed bald men with egos as big as their bellies !.........I would find it an absolute insult to spend weeks putting top condition on a dog only to tie it to a heavy weight and say " right now drag it along " ! No offense to you Bulldog like i say im sure its a lot of fun.....but to take it all serious and competetive.
-
If it did find it dead then it only died a matter of minutes before..............i suppose Born Hunters theory sounds fair but would a bop do a runner from a single crow and leave his meal ?.........I suppose theres a hundred and one possible scenarios but its land ive walked a thousand times and i guess you just get a feel for a place....and this just seemed odd.
-
Now thats not nice..............never mind talking about them sending you to sleep you should try watching them !! Ok well thanks for the replies that settles it then i was right all along ..................Still cant quite work out the scenario of how 1 crow would be sitting eating 1 warm mature healthy rabbit ....but still i aint no Miss Marple.

I find this sort of shit fascinating.......i doubt they researched that on the internet .....makes you realise the knowledge that gets handed down from generation to generation.

Trotting Alongside Bike...

Interesting about catching the lure every time......i believe all dogs are made different mentally and so theres not a right and wrong way about doing it......but in my experience allowing a dog to catch the lure more than about once every 3 or 4 sessions leads to a notciceable loss in the intensity a dog puts in..........im a firm believer in that your not just conditioning the body your conditioning the mind as well.....maybe with running dogs its not to a peak but still you want a dog that when it comes to the crunch is 100 % concentrated and focused........allowing a dog to catch a lure ma -

[quote name="gareth_daniel" post You've misunderstood me. The mooching over the moors and quarry and biking is new. As in, the last 2 weeks. I got the bike this week specifically to get her /quote] Long slow bike work is for strength endurance....... You want explosive speed/fitness...... Your never going to get a bike up to the speed a dog can run so your never going to be able to get a dog right out wide open on a bike. -
Trotting Alongside Bike...

Look at how a dog works in the field its not a constant pace.......a dog will be flat out one minute then walking the next...................thats how you need to condition your dog a constant 7/8mph trot for 12 miles is pointless you could do 30 miles like that it wont get your dog fit for work........................a short sharp 4 or 5 miles going up and down the rev range will bring the fitness you want not a long slow constant trot. -
I think its the sort of idealistic thing we all like to think.....................but when the time actually comes id say not as many people as we think own a working dog through to its natural end........if you can only own a couple of dogs and you take the work a dog does seriously then why wait out a dogs life before you can work dogs again.......move it on to a comfy home and start again.
-
Just as well it was Leicester..................dig up a richard the third round here and you take her out for dinner !
-
Can a single crow catch and kill a mature fit rabbit ? Was out earlier and saw a crow having a munch on what appeared to be an otherwise clean healthy rabbit it just sparked a debate with a pal and neither of us really knew the answer.......so thought id ask the experts ?
-
To right, we've got used to it and it would never taste the same. You wouldnt be saying that if they was to cut out the middle lamb

That was Mcvicar if im not wrong

Fears......mine is mice .......................horrible little c**ts they give me the shivers !...............Ive faced most of my fears over the years i think its a great battle to have with yourself .....ive had fears of heights i cracked that......fears of fast fairground rides, cracked that........fears of going under water, cracked that...........................but mice ..............just cant do it even looking at them
-
If you got a few bob spare these little tanks make a nice little ornament for a Betta they have a small heater/filter/light etc small enough to put on a shelf and decorated with some small stones/plants/sand etc are much nicer to look at than a plain jar. http://compare.ebay....type=pla&crdt=0

* New * British Citizenship Test: Could You Pass ?
gnasher16 replied to Outlaw Pete's topic in General Talk
What a load of ol bollocks !!...............I knew every roadsign in the highway code the week before my driving test....the week after id forgotten them !!........Like learning a few facts and figures is going to make you MORE British -
Beautiful little child i wish him all the best of strength, luck and courage.............all the things money cant buy !
-
Not at all..............bring them along to a point where they are mentally and physically capable of winning and retaining the title................whats the old line....winning it is the easy part, defending it is the real test. But that said......i dont think any of this current crop have the confidence to do that hence they are all avoiding each other incase they lose and it puts them back down the order at a time when a title could be picked up relatively easy ( not that any world title comes easy ).....but you get my drift.
-
The game has changed mate its not like years ago where you was tested out in the gym these lads today dont spar hard like years ago their first real test normally comes in a competetive fight once they are already an established name......i dont like it but its the way it is today...............a fight with someone like Cunningham is about bringing Fury along in his learning while making him look good....pushing him enough to gain experience but not so far as to beat him....and in that respect Cunningham is a good opponent. Fury has got 10-15 years in the game yet to have wars....at this stag
-
Id agree with 99% of what Brookie said....im not sure Fury is the best British prospect since Lewis but everything else i totally agree......Cunningham is a decent opponent,he is without doubt a better boxer than Fury but i cant see him getting round Furys sheer size and because of that Fury has enough ability of his own to get him out.......the constant comparisons to Price are unfair on both boys......Fury is at least a year further down the line than Price, which considering he is 5 or 6 years younger is quite an achievement !......The heavyweight division is horrible at the moment there are
