Back then our gym was well reknowned for the gym wars that just dont take place these days there were 10 round spars that any referee would stop 5 times over ! Gary Mason hit me harder than ive ever been hit but for pure pain and just plain horribleness .....Funso Banjo on 2 or 3 seperate occasions had me in pain for days !!.....Man he was horrible you just couldnt get inside,he would beat you to the punch,know your next move before you did......he wasnt gifted by any means but he was so tall and strong you knew your only out was to quit......Trevor Curry was very similar we had some cracking

Met him a few times Baw the Dicanio lounge is in the same part of the ground i go and he would often come to games before he got back into the game himself........never had a one to one sit down chat with him like but been in the same company a few times i found him very well mannered,respectful etc.....quite a charmer really think my mrs would of f****d me off for him at the drop of a hat but i reckon that was just the accent One thing i thought shone through with him is a real hunger for success not just football but id imagine he,s a very driven person in anything he does and doesnt sto

If you think you could do better, I know there are shedloads of good boxing clubs all over Northern Ireland. Like I've said - give it a try ! Have a go with a professional boxer, then see what you think !! Cant be very good clubs if they,ll allow a stranger off the streets to walk in and swap it out with a pro .........its silly to do all the " if you think your hard enough " talk............everyone has opinions it dont mean they think they can do better !...... The bravery thing in regards to boxing is nonsense it doesnt take a brave person to do something you love doing.....ive traded

I don't think it is in all honesty, it's a woman left on her own with loads of kids. It's a shame that things have turned out like that for her IMO. Has to be said though mate surely after 3 or 4 kids are left fatherless a little alarm bell must go off in a womans head that says i need to be careful history doesnt repeat itself here...................a few f**k ups anyone can excuse....but 11

A legend after 20 games I saw things in Dicanio i had never previously seen on a football pitch......aside from his obvious skill and talent..........his burning desire and absolute will to win......lack of fear to put his neck on the block......walk the walk kind of thing...was something i really fell for......certainly not a hero worship by any means,but definately a deep respect for the mentality of a competitor at the highest level.......never before or after have i seen a footballer with the mental strength passion and loyalty that Dicanio showed to West Ham......to turn down Alex Fergu

Just out of interest mate....do you therefore consider the AA organisation as " unworthy " ?....its not a charity and its full of addicts many with no intention of fighting their weakness.................what is a genuine case when it comes to addictions,do you have to admit your an addict before you qualify as a genuine case ?......................Alcoholism as a disease just doesnt work like that. I dont idolise the man either,in fact i dont idolise anybody....except maybe Bobby Moore .....................you dont have to idolise a sports star to feel compassion towards them.

I think the minute you need to start comparing who is most needy of charity your best keeping your money in your pocket !....Giving to the needy is something you should WANT to do not be put on a guilt trip to do,hence i despise all these ads on telly for starving africans or rspca,you shouldnt need to make folk feel guilty to put their hand in their pocket..............yes if your talking about your last copper coins then of course there are more worthy causes than Gazza.....but to compare soldiers with limbs blown off is just ridiculous....if thats the case then there should only be 1 worthy

Cant argue with any of that. I just think peoples jealousy often clouds their judgment when it comes to successful sports/media folk.........jealousy is a horrible trait and the sooner people realise that famous people get illness/diseases as well.................we,ll all be a bit more understanding.

Its absolutely nothing to do with sport its about sticking up for my own people.......your an Englishman in England i,ll stick up for you,your wife,your kids just the same as i,ll stick up for Gazza.........long before i,ll stick up for people we have no connection with. if it is a so called disease its hardly natural..........................self inflicted ............. hes had his chances ............................waste of space , send the money to a worthy cause like some one dieing from a natural cause instead of a self inflicted one......... i cant see how they can class it as a disease ,................if thats the case then people adicted to all drugs have a disease..........
