Fair doo mate, it must have been a bugger of a place if you needed a mini digger?! Are you with the Fell and moorland as that could have been free( well a tenner!) Cheers Oli

Hi all, I was hoping somebody on here might know of anyone who has a contact for Ortovox, I have a box and 2 collars, and my box has developed a fault? I have heard that Bryan doesn't deal with the anymore?? Is this true and if so does any one else?? Some help would be very appreciated as there is still a couple of months of the season left, and I can't afford to buy a bellman box !! Thanks all Oli

It's not the hounds fault, if they had two foxes bolt I front of them and they left one go you would be pissed right off, to them it was two fixes as the terrier is about the same size and would have smelt the same too, after being up close to the fox which would have pissed all up it !! I have lost a good black biych the same way and it is shite!! (as she was the last working bitch of that good little line, who was going to be bred only two or three months later!!) But it's also a hazard that hunt terrier men face I'm afraid?!! Cheers Oli

i like to use the T bar as its a quick way of finding the tube in most types of ground, wouldnt be with out mine its stainless steel at12mm for shaft and 16mm for handle made free of charge by a goo mate, the only gripe is that it would have been alot stronger if all 16mm!! but cant complain really?!! oli

kernow oli replied to mid.land.err's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
Only managing to get our with the hounds at the moment and they are a fairly young pack at the moment due to kennel cough killing off the good uns two seasons ago. They aren't marking hardly at all at the moment, but they are killing on top, so hoping the foxes that are left around start wiseing up and getting to ground quick so I can start some digging!!! Only had one fairly easy fox and a few bolts. -

Real good read mate, I've been on here a couple of years now and a great post like this comes up only a couple of times! It is hard when you lose them, I've had a couple go whole doing what they were bred for! And I was also close to saying f@&k it!! But seeing the old face of one of your other workers keeps you going. When you lost the nigger dog, we're you using the old Deben, and do you think you might of found him if the bellman was about?? They do save more terriers lives now a days IMO!! Good luck on Sunday too?! YIS Oli -
I've got a good red dog here at the moment, strong head but no bull !! He is very strong not too Big though, seen several now! You could use him for a pup?? I'll try get a pic up ASAP. Down Cornwall by the way. Cheers Oli

???????????? Of course they can, and do!!! Better than a fox hound in tighter cover, bit not as fast on open ground. You will never have a bad scenting day with the beagles either?!!! I used to love going out with me Old mans pack a few years back, hunting nothing bit foxes with 5 couple of beagles, and terriers following!! Good times

Bloody anti's upto there old tricks again!! they'll be putting this shit into the papers next, they have obviously set it all up!!! And almost all the land they were on seems to be owned by hunts, so why does no one catch them trespassing and "escort" them off?? Because it's bull sh@&!! I would love to find them on our ground they would get hell of a shock!! Wa@&£ers make my blood boil with stories like these. Also saw on there website that Alisha Dixon is now vice president for LACS!!! What the f@&k does a city girl like her know about country pursuits? Nothing, she is just

I have the D3 and two transmitter collars with the strong stuff collars, they work well most of the time, but get them wet( I mean real wet) and they play up abit, also 1.0 on the box is about 2 foot. I also have the new b&f collar with it, which works very well, 1.0 is about 3 foot, and it's accurate. My box went wrong near end of last season due to some heavy rain while digging one week, I sent of back using underground and they replaced the box no hassle!! Hope they do the same for you?! Cheers Oli Ps Bryan also told me how to make it more waterproof using some tape and silic

I'll second that, I've just bought a new bib n brace style pair of gore tex trousers as I finally caught me gussett on barbed wire last season in me old pair, and ripped a bloody great hole in them!! This would of been their 4th season too. At only £25 quid you can't go wrong. I put my jacket( army surplus dpm95 goretex,£18) and trousers through the was with proper waterproofer before the start of each season just as a bit of extra peice of mind too, keeps my nice n dry while digging!!

Bloody Ticks!! Help??
kernow oli replied to kernow oli's topic in Working Dog Health & Training Talk
Where would you get benzol benzoate from? A chemist?? What about hibisiscrub?? My young boys regularly come down the kennel with me and they go mad over flo, stoking etc so which product/ methods would be best for after handling?? Cheers And terra x I'll give you pm -
best bitch i owned was the red bitch in my avatar, Millie, she was a great finder and would tackle anything in front of her even though she was only about 11-12" tts, the heart of a lion, she was a reliable bitch to have out when with the hounds. Her only problem was if she got back in the earth aftre a dig she wouldnt come out for love nor money going round and round, only thing would be to fire the pistol into the ground and catch her as she came out to investigate!! i had some good digs over her and her blood still lives on in my kennel in her Grand Daughter, who is shaping up nicely at 15
